StarSeven7 Posted July 9, 2022 #103 Share Posted July 9, 2022 Thanks for the enjoyable review! We're going on the Montenegro/Greek Isles itinerary at the end of August so it was great to read all this info! Do you happen to remember what time you were able to get tender tickets in Kotor? I know you mentioned it for your first itinerary but you didn't say for Kotor. And you get the tender tickets in the dining room? We're hoping to beat the crowds and get an early tender ticket that day! Thanks! 🙂

If I remember correctly, they said were going to start distributing tickets at 10:45. I think I got in line around 10:00 and there were already 15-20 people in front of me. The same thing happened last time we needed early tender tickets: people start lining up early. Both times we lined up for tickets, they started handing them out a few minutes earlier than the stated time. Only one person in your cabin needs to go. They will give you enough tickets for everyone in your cabin. The time depends on what your docking time is, and they made several announcements about it. They were giving out the tickets at the entrance to the dining room, deck 4 starboard side. I will add that no one was actually checking the tender tickets at the gangplank.

tampadee Posted July 9, 2022 #106 Share Posted July 9, 2022 I really enjoyed travelling with you! Just wondering, what happened with your broken finger? Was it painful the rest of the trip?

Was it painful the rest of the trip? Thanks for asking. It was in fact broken, as I knew instinctively as soon as it happened. I have a doctor who is a hand specialist that I see occasionally for an unrelated condition, so I went to see him as soon as we got back. He's got me wearing a splint for the next 5-6 weeks. It was pretty painful but manageable until the trip home. Dragging around our luggage was difficult. My husband tried to help me as much as he could but he couldn't carry everything. I have the worst luck with this sort of thing. I once broke an elbow in Rome. I just tough it out. It's going to take a lot to make me miss part of a vacation! 😃

We had snacks there a couple of times. They had pizza, salads, cookies, sandwiches, fruit, and soup as I recall. Not a ton of choices but certainly enough to make a meal if you don't want to deal with the crowds in Windjammer. I never looked to see if they were open or what they were serving for breakfast. Once, they had bags of chips and we snatched them up -- I have a weakness for salty snacks like chips and popcorn and have a hard time finding them on cruise ships. We only saw them the one time during 2 weeks.

mdepsmom Posted July 11, 2022 #116 Share Posted July 11, 2022 Thank you so much for such a detailed and informative review. My son and I were booked on a B2B on Brilliance a couple months ago and had to cancel, but we have rebooked for next summer w/ a slightly different itinerary (sailing from athens and ending in barcelona) so your review was incredibly helpful w/ all the great port photos, etc. Reading your review makes me so excited for next summer! Thanks again, and I sure hope you are feeling better.

Thanks again, and I sure hope you are feeling better. That sounds like a wonderful cruise. I hope you are able to spend an extra day or two in Athens and Barcelona. I would have loved to have a little more time in Athens. I've been to Barcelona twice and love that city. So much to see. I'm sure you'll have a great time. reney313 Posted July 12, 2022 #118 Share Posted July 12, 2022 I was so thrilled to see a review for this itinerary. We are going in September and I've been trying to get information on a few different things. You definitely helped! (One of them was whether the speed boat in Kotor was worth the time - and I think I'd have the same impression as you). Great pictures and details. And I'm thrilled with seeing the cruise compass for the same itinerary. I am happy you made it home, albeit it with a 2 day delay. I am curious if insurance will cover any of the expenses. I used insure my trip as well and chose the nationwide plan. I also agree - we primarily cruise Royal Caribbean and Princess, but I have cruised plenty on NCL and once on Carnival. I think they are all similar - they each have strengths and weaknesses. And for European itineraries, I'm really cruising for the ports and not so much the ship. I think you would really like the Oasis class ships, but I would only take those in the Caribbean. You don't have enough days at sea to really enjoy the ship and appreciate the offerings otherwise. Hopefully the finger heals quickly. I am amazed how you were a trooper after that - I would have been whining a lot. lol.
GONFERPAR Posted July 12, 2022 #119 Share Posted July 12, 2022 First of all, apologies for my english because is not my mother language. Thank you very much for the review. We will do in September the second week (including Kotor and Argostoli) with the same hours on each port. It is posible to get some complete cruise compass as Kotor o Athens? Because our idea is have lunch on board and after this disembarking and avoid queues and we want to know when starts Windjammer serving lunch. Apart from this, to get more information of the whole day. Thank you very much in advance.

Viajera7 Posted July 14, 2022 #124 Share Posted July 14, 2022 Nice review. I was on the Brilliance the last week of May on The Greek Isles itinerary and Kotor. I liked all the ports but Mykonos was my favorite. There was a show every night in the theater but there were also activities and/ or music every night in the central part of the ship/ lobby and the Colony. I went to most of the activities but I missed the comedy club like they do on NCL or Carnival. My next cruise is the Ovation of the Seas in 2 days. I hope they have it there since it’s a bigger ship.
