Images of Ships in Port (The Sequel)

Hello Cruise Photographers 📸 🚢

 

At 71 pages loaded with enough ships to probably circle the equator a few times, it seemed like we were overdue to start compiling another volume of stunning images of ships in port. It can be the one you're sailing on, others in port or if you live in or near a port, show us what you saw. (Great view of RCL on the West Side Highway Sunday but it was super hot and I was running late for an event I was coordinating! 🤪 err... well the ship was in the berth, I was in the car 🙃)

Let we start it off with the Oosterdam in Souda Crete. And in Istanbul at the new cruise ship dock, if yore the last ship down at the end of the pier it can be a long walk to the security check point.

Cruise ship in the Great Lakes. This is the Pearl Mist in Midland ONT. which is on Georgian Bay. She stops here all summer, not sure if it's every week or every two.

That's strange, since the images are showing up in your post, where you quote my original post.

Despite using two different devices and two different  browsers I still only see many lines of gibberish 

 

I wonder if anyone else can see them?

What browsers are you using?  I uploaded them using Chrome.

I am using Google Chrome and cannot see billandsue's photos either. And the link they gave yeilds the following:

Also have never been able to get links to google photos to work in the past.

A workaround since Google Photos seems to not play well with URL links to the boards.

 

This takes less time than you think... 🙂

 

 

When the image opens, right click and choose "Web Capture".

 

Choose Capture Area

 

 

Outline the image and click Copy

 

Return to your post, click in the text area, right click and Paste (or Ctrl+V)

 

Voila!

 

A pain in the sit-upon, but it works as an alternative to downloading the photo and uploading it on a PC. On a tablet or phone, download /upload might be a better method.

Dave, your workaround looked really good (even if a pain in the ...) until I went to try it out 🙄

Oh no - my right-click result looked VERY different (see below). This is Firefox but Chrome looked very similar (nothing like yours).

 

 

So I thought: I'll just try  'Copy Image', then come here to the post and do right lick and paste (or Ctrl+V) 

Voila - it works (at least as far as I can see) Hope everyone else can see it too!! Please tell 🤞

Coming back to it now I can't either,  only the same kind of gibberish. 

 

I'm still curious as to why Dave's right click had so much more stuff than mine 😕

But it looks like download from google photos and then upload to here to reliably work. 

 

I've disliked google photos from the word go, when they ditched Picasa and its online albums which were much more user-friendly.
