No Beach....

:)

There are 10 of us from age 8 - 77. Since we are doing "the beach thing" at 2 other Islands, we don't want a beach in St Thomas.

What would you recommend we do for the day that wont put us to sleep. Who would you recommend we do it thru? Or, just do it on our own?

Any/all suggestions would be welcomed. Thnx...

Elaine :)

How about doing an island tour of St. John?

1. Grab a cab to Red Hook

2. Take the ferry over to St. John

3. When you step off the ferry pier in St. John, walk to your left and ask one of the cab drivers if he would like to take your group on an island tour.

It definitely won't put you to sleep and you will be able to get out to stretch your legs and take photos.

You could do the historic walking tour. It leaves at about 9:30 from Blackbeard's castle. Hopefully the guide will tell pirate stories to keep the little one engaged. The others should appreciate the history and seeing the lovely antiques in the restored houses. The guided tour is $20/pp. I think it's $10 for kids.

After that you can take some bread to the waterfront by the Coast Guard station and let the kid(s) drop the bread in the water and see the fish appear out of nowhere! Depending on when you come, there may be yachts tied up at the waterfront, and those usually get people's attention.

I agree this is a good idea. You can alwasy haul some bathing suits and if the water calls too loudly swim for a while on St. John. Depending on how long you are in St. Thomas you can spend a long while on St. John and still have time to shop on St. Thomas.
