Hello,

First time going on Disney cruise and out of Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Can anyone give me information on this terminal? How's parking and is the parking lot close to terminal or is there a shuttle? Is there a certain time you can get on the cruise.  How is boarding is there a long distance to get on the ship...older person going who has trouble walking...are there wheelchairs and do you have to preorder.  Any help on the terminal is appreciated. Thank you!

We just went on a Norwegian cruise out of Manhattan in May and can confirm that it was the worst boarding experience we have ever had. The best part about the terminal was actually the parking situation, very easy to get in and out and plenty of parking, aside from being expensive. That's where the good news ended. There were four separate lines, one for security, one for Bermuda travel documents, one for COVID tests, and one for check in. Everyone was crammed in like sardines, only about 1/3 were wearing masks despite a mask mandate being in place at that time. Each of the lines kept getting backed in to one another.

I don't know where you can get a wheelchair if you need it, but you should be able to skip ahead to the front of the security line at least. We were able to skip ahead because we had a stroller.

The whole process took about 2 1/2 hours. We got there about 10:00 and our arrival time was 9:30.

We're looking into the Magic cruise in October out of Manhattan and we'll probably try to get there at 8:00. if we have to wait to get started so be it, I just want to be at the front of the line of people.

You actually park on top of the terminal out in the open.  It's pretty easy but $40 per night!  They have huge freight elevators that take you to the main terminal.

We haven't experienced a major issue and with most of the Covid issues over it will probably be a little easier now that it was recently.

They do not have wheel chairs at the terminal.  You should contact the cruise line in advance to make arrangements if you just need one for transportation through the terminal and into the ship.  If you need one for the entire trip you will have to rent one.  That should be a simple google search.

When you do your online check in at 30 days out, you’ll be given a time window to arrive at the port.
