HAL Rotterdam for kids?

Hi,

We're considering a Norway cruise on the HAL Rotterdam in June 2023, when our kids will be 8 and 10. I was wondering if anyone has experience with HAL in general and the Rotterdam specifically for this age group? It will be their first cruise and I want to make sure they have fun!

You might also ask on the HAL board here.  I think it depends on what it takes to keep your children interested/entertained.  There will not be anything fancy for kids on any HAL ship.  But they do have kids programs.  EM

The entertainment is definitely not geared to kids.

@ScanTheHorizon I have a similar quandary...My kids will be 12 and 8 next summer and we are considering a 14 night Norway or Norway/Iceland cruise. Rotterdam looks amazing (for me and my DH at least haha!) but was also wondering about the kids.

 

We went on a 9 night Alaska cruise this summer on Princess and it was fun and the kids like it. Princess is supposed to have slightly younger passengers. Princess also has Norway/Land of the Midnight Sun cruises in the summer so I'm also considering that as well. But I like trying new things so I'm interested in Rotterdam as well as a new ship. (And the "enrichment" on our Princess cruise was a joke.) Rotterdam also has family oceanview cabins which have a nice price point for these longer cruises. Curious, did you make a decision?

@woostergirl We did! We decided against doing a cruise at all. We're flying into Copenhagen, flying from there to Bergen, driving across Norway and flying home from Oslo. Ask me if I regret this after dragging my luggage in and out of four hotels 😂
