Turtle Bay the shuttles are outrageous, but I understand why, and there are few Ubers out that way. Kapolei and Ko Olina have decent Uber/Lyft and taxis for people who want to go out to dinner someplace different. You can getaway without a car easier. Yes true, but the poster that 93yearsyoung was responding to stated they are looking to go out for hikes and snorkeling and eat at hole in the walls etc… not very practical to use Uber or Lyft for those type of things regardless of where they are staying. You don't need a car for Kahala Resort because they will shuttle you to Ala Moana and Waikiki, both of which are easily accessible to a lot of hole in the wall dining and you can snorkel off the Kahala hotel or go in to the Waikiki Marine Conservation Area to snorkel. Ko Olina has Kahe Point Beach Park and Electric Beach, both of which have great snorkeling. Hiking is another story, but they'd have to Uber or drive to hiking regardless of where they stay. jsn55 Posted October 26, 2022 #53 Share Posted October 26, 2022 Haven't read all the answers, but I was just looking at our scrapbook from our first trip to Oahu. We rented a car and stayed up at Turtle Bay for several nights, toured all around the North Shore. We then spent 5 nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We loved both hotels, and were surprised at how much we enjoyed Oahu ... the combination of 'countryside' and 'Waikiki' seemed just right.
