abearz Posted August 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2022 I haven't sailed since cruise lines started using apps, so I don't know what to expect. I saw that another line had a message feature in their app, is that available with Carnival's?
n6uqqq Posted August 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2022 (edited) It is for a 5 dollar charge per person for the duration of the cruise. Works reasonably well, at least it did for me. Edited August 17, 2022 by n6uqqq
Schoifmom Posted August 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Yes, the HUB app has a messaging feature. It is $5 per device (not per day, but for the entire cruise). You need to leave the app open in the background in order to get notifications. It works reasonably well, although we have had a couple of instances of messages taking some time to deliver. ULCajunCruiser Posted August 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2022 If you have an internet plan, do you still need to pay the $5??
Rare 1025cruise Posted August 17, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Messaging is extra, regardless of purchase of an internet plan. 1

If you can use other messaging methods, then you do not need to use the HUBApp chat tool. If you do not like to use other methods, then it appears you still need to pay $5 per device for the Chat tool.
