Bill511 Posted August 23, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2022 I'm sailing on the Emerald Princess 11/23 (day before Thanksgiving) I was wondering when do they set up the Christmas decorations or do they do it the beginning of December after we disembark. Rare Waynetor Posted August 24, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2022 It is usually done on the first turn around day in December. An outside company comes on board and does it all before sail-away. Decorations are usually taken down on the first turnaround day after New Years. ,
Rare Coral Posted August 24, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2022 It is usually done around the turnaround day after Thanksgiving. I have sailed on Thanksgiving week cruises and it goes up right when we are getting off. I have also sailed the week after Thanksgiving and it is usually done during that cruise. Not sure how yours will work out.
voljeep Posted August 24, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2022 we also sail Thanksgiving week, but on the CB - we will decorate our door for Thanksgiving upon arrival, then change to Christmas either Thanksgiving night or that Friday morning. Yeah, we're "those people" when it comes to doors

kurtwvs Posted December 9, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2022 What's it like.. Christmas Eve and Day out there at Sea? Lots of lights or trees on the ship? We'll be on Ruby Princess from Galveston Texas. Anyone know what the shows like? Rudolph and friends?
Rare Shelly97060 Posted December 10, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2022 On Diamond Princess the Piazza is already decorated for Christmas. Christmas trees, garlands on the staircase and a monitor that has a Yule log. Christmas carols are playing in the buffet. I am sure it is similar on other ships.
Rare mom says Posted December 10, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2022 The Crown had half the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. The rest were up the next day. While we were at sea.
MissP22 Posted December 10, 2022 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2022 Is Christmas the only day they make it snow in the Piazza?

Last year we had snow on Lido deck during COVID. It only happened when Santa came on Christmas. On previous cruises - it snowed multiple times in the Piazza.
