jerbeth Posted August 26, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2022 Looking at cabins for a future cruise and it has been so long since we sailed that I am not sure where the smoking areas are. Are they still on the port side of deck 5? Looking at a cabin on deck six and do not want to be above the smoking areas.

Direct from Celebrity Cruises website: Smoking and Restrictions on Purchase of Tobacco Products Onboard For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our Celebrity ships are non-smoking. Hookahs and other types of water pipes are prohibited from use under this non-smoking designation. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom balcony. This applies to all stateroom categories onboard. Smoking is also not permitted in any dining venue, theater, bar, lounge, hallway, or elevator; on the jogging track; or in most other indoor areas. Furthermore, smoking is not allowed in certain outdoor spaces, including restricted areas, food venues, and kids play areas and pools. If a guest is in violation of this “No Smoking” policy, a cleaning fee will be applied to their onboard account. Because we recognize that some guests do smoke, we have designated smoking areas on the ship. These smoking areas are identified by signage, and ashtrays are provided in these locations for smoking use. Guests may inquire about the location of the ship’s designated smoking areas at the Guest Relations Desk. In casinos on itineraries where smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the areas for both smoking and non-smoking guests. Cigar and pipe tobacco is limited to designated outdoor areas and cigar bars (if the ship has one). Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only permitted within the designated smoking areas. Cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. Guests must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess, or use tobacco onboard. It can get stinky on your balcony.

For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking; however, we recognize that some of our guests smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that also satisfies smokers, we have designated certain areas of the ship as "smoking areas." Generally, smoking is not permitted except in designated areas. (Contact Guest Relations for additional details). This policy includes smoking-like products such as electronic cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted inside any guest stateroom; nor on any guest veranda. If a guest is in violation of this policy, a cleaning fee of $250 USD will be applied to their SeaPass® account and the guest may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of this Guest Conduct Policy. Celebrity Cruises® kindly asks all guests to please observe the non-smoking areas and to refrain from smoking cigarettes, pipes or cigars in any of the non-designated areas. These requests are made to provide a comfortable shipboard environment for everyone. Where permitted, cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must always be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco. Neither this, nor your second post answered the OPs question. They asked where the smoking areas ARE, not where they aren't allowed. Thank you Middlehaitch for providing the answer. 3
rockymtn2 Posted August 27, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2022 We just came off the Equinox and I can verify that there are two smoking areas on the port side. One right outside the doors by the aft elevators and the other midship. That one is directly below stateroom #7245 if you want to look at a deck plan for reference. I would never book in either of those two areas again. Not only do you smell the smoke (the cigar smoke was the worst!), but since many people congregated there, it was actually kind of loud since they tended to have loud conversations, especially at night. I really missed my relaxing, quiet (non-smelly) evening time on my balcony listening to the waves. There are also smoking sections on the port side of the Sunset Bar and Mast Bar, which were also not nice to walk through.
TMLAalum Posted August 27, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2022 We are taking a risk in booking 6241 with large veranda and bed by bath on the Silhouette. I knew that the smoking area is directly under those on the "jut out" so hoping we are far enough away to avoid noise and odors!
