dfencecoach Posted September 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2022 We will be boarding the Magic between 10:00 - 10:30. After boarding are we allowed to exit the ship and return before final boarding. We don’t sail out until 5:30. Thanks

Usually once on board, you are not permitted to exit.

Why pick the early time if you did not want to be on the ship?
dfencecoach Posted September 25, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) I don’t want to get caught in all the lines at the port in Norfolk. Leaving is just an option if we want to spend some time walking around town. Edited September 25, 2022 by dfencecoach

Go do your wandering around, you can show up for boarding anytime after your check in time. In the early afternoon the lines start to thin out and get less hectic around the terminal.
kelkel2 Posted September 25, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2022 I would also suggest to do a later embarkation time. Walk around, sightsee, etc and then head to the port. Even if they let you off the ship to come back on I feel like it would just be extra hectic and wouldn’t be worth it.
sanmarcosman Posted September 25, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2022 If you're walking around before boarding in that part of Norfolk hold your wallet/handbag securely. Cars parked at the lot suggested by Carnival just 3 blocks from the terminal on Monticello Ave were regularly being broken in to until the city made the lot owner provide 24 hrs security. You should be able to check in your luggage with a porter at the terminal and return closer to sail away time but be back at least one hour before sail away. 2 hours prior to sailing is better still. Suggest you pick a site now you want to visit and Uber there roundtrip.
Rare BoozinCroozin Posted September 26, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2022 I don't think they will let you debark. If you don't want to be onboard early, board at 3PM. You can always change your boarding time to later.
