wineoclock Posted November 13, 2022 #26 Share Posted November 13, 2022 How about a Scandinavian cruise. Greece is hot in the summer but I don’t think it’s unbearable. Cyprus & Turkey are definitely hotter. Often hits the 40’s in the summer.
Rare Hlitner Posted November 24, 2022 #27 Share Posted November 24, 2022 Cruise ships do not make money (onboard revenue) by staying in ports. But you might want to check with a small boat company (think yacht cruises) called Variety Cruises. They are a Greek company that has been in business for many years and operates a fleet of smaller (often 40 passenger or less) boats. They do have a web site and having done one of these yacht cruises (when it was still Zeus Cruises) in the Ionian Islands it was an absolutely amazing experience. Variety does have cruises to the Greek Islands with some fantastic itineraries. I do not know how late they stay in Santorini, but you can certainly call or send an e-mail to their NYC office. Sunset was around 7pm so pax could enjoy the sunset from the ship, cable car, or from the cliff. Unfortunately it was very cloudy so there was just a brief sliver of color for a few minutes. There was a Costa ship that left around 9pm and another small ship that stayed until 2am, Crystal something I think. You'll need to check the Port of Santorini to find port times for whichever ships are in port on whichever days you're interested in. And check the sunset times since they vary widely from May to Sept. We just booked with Azamara (small ship)and will be leaving at 21:00. Will be cruising sept 2023

No cruise ship docks at Santorini. It's a tender port.

A few Greek flag cruises get to dock in Athinios, at least sometimes. We have seen Celestyal docked at the port.
