shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #102 Share Posted November 3, 2022 This is new from my last visit! So we took the Transporter to the Wilderness Landing area. The transporter is free, but the Skyglider is not. We stopped in the Adventure Den to get Susan and Maria's waivers signed, and to get their wristbands for the Ziprider which gives them unlimited Skyglider access. Wyland Mural in the Adventure Den. Heading up the Skyglider! Sign at the top of the Mountain You can walk around up here, but be Bear aware. This is the highest point on the Skyglider. Here is a video I made about the Skyglider
shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #103 Share Posted November 3, 2022 This is a map of Icy Strait Point. This will give you better idea of the layout of ISP with the new additions. Back on the bottom of the hill. this will help illustrate the elevation rise. So we decided to head back over to the Cannery. Trace, Maria, Susan and I all fit in these gondolas comfortably. Trace and I are not small people. Guard Cat! Another Supervisor! I was hoping the Cookhouse was going to be open. They had fabulous Fish & Chips the last time we were in ISP. But they were closed.
shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #104 Share Posted November 3, 2022 The Cannery has a lot of great information. Plus some really cool shops to explore. I really enjoy the examples of how the canning process was done in the past. After getting some goodies, we headed back towards the Adventure Center. Susan and Maria took the souvenirs back to our respective Staterooms as Susan and Maria as well as Trace and I had excursions. The women were doing the ZipRider and Trace and I were doing an ATV excursion. I saved the fire. It had died down. You need a good fire on a cool day! We hopped back on the Transporter to head back up the Skyglider one more time before our excursions! Adventure course - it wasn't open and looked like it was still being put together still. Back on the Skyglider! I love Maria's eyes as we start heading up! The view is incredible! I spy the Norwegian Spirit The view from up on top! A quick rest break! We headed back down the Skyglider and our groups parted ways. Susan and Maria had to meet up in the Adventure Den for the Ziprider. They then would ride the Skyglider up to the top again. Trace and I headed back to the Adventure Center on the Transporter.
shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #105 Share Posted November 3, 2022 You can see the Wilderness Dock entrance from the Transporter. I watched a group of Zipriders come flying in. Just so Trace could see what Susan and Maria would be doing! We hung out near the fire, as we waited for our meeting time. Trace and I checked in for our excursion.

shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #107 Share Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) Matthew and Trace - ATV excursion Remember I had the main video/picture camera with me! Heading out on the bus for our excursion! We drove out to the woods and got in our ATV's! We stopped here to get some info and enjoy the views! shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #108 Share Posted November 3, 2022 We continued on! We reached the halfway point and got out to stretch and to hear a couple stories. We hopped back into the ATV to head back to the start. This is where you could switch drivers, if you wanted. I opted to be on photo/video duty. Waiting to head out! Off we go! That ATV died on the way out.

shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #110 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Trace and I had a blast! We did have a brown pants moment when the throttle got stuck. Luckily, Trace got it unstuck, otherwise that could have been a whole different adventure! We loaded up on the bus for the ride back to Hoonah and the ship. Here is the video of our ATV excursion! --

But when the Sun itinerary got cut, there were not enough participants to go, so the company cut the tour. Trace and I then booked the ATV tour. Susan had wanted to do the Zipline since the last time we were in ISP.
shadowmeboy Posted November 3, 2022 Author #117 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Trace & I finally made it back to the Port area. The tour was 2.5 hours long. When we left Susan and Maria, we couldn't remember how long our tour was. So when we got back, they were kind of freaking out that we had been gone so long. We apologized for not knowing, plus they couldn't take their cell phones on the ziprider, so its not like I could text. Since the Spirit was not very full and we were the only ship in Port. At like 8:00 when we got back, almost everything was closed and most of the passengers were already onboard. We had an all aboard of 9:30. I noticed we left Port, with everyone onboard at like 8:45 to 9:00. Susan really didn't want to take this picture, but I reminded her we needed to take at least one picture set every night. She was tired from all the activities at ISP. We headed down to Windows for Dinner. Roasted Beet Salad Bruschetta French Onion Soup Asian Sparerib with Summer Vegetable Roll Minestrone Soup White Cheddar and Potato Soup Almond Crusted Ruby Red Trout Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo I had the Whole Roasted Sirloin but that picture went missing. Ice Cream Warm Chocolate Lava Cake Bananas Foster It had been a long day, so we all retired to our staterooms after dinner. --

If so maybe we can book the zip line before or after an ATV excursion. We will be on the Jewel in August Southbound after taking a land tour. How bumpy would you say the ATVs were, on a scale from maybe Smooth as Glass to Toronto Potholes? Such beautiful scenery!

Such beautiful scenery! Well it is a gravel road with small creeks/springs crossing it. We were going 15 mph and it did have a few bumps along the way. I would be a little disappointed if there weren’t some bumps along the way. It’s not like you are completely off-roading it either. It was fun running through the forest with the foliage wacking you as go around a pothole. I enjoyed it and had lots of fun. 1
shadowmeboy Posted November 4, 2022 Author #123 Share Posted November 4, 2022 The night of Day 2 was the comedy show that only Susan was able to get a seat for. She did film the act, so luckily I was able to see it. Here is the video if you want to see Al Parks Family Friendly Show from that night.
shadowmeboy Posted November 4, 2022 Author #124 Share Posted November 4, 2022 July 9th, 2022 - Cruise Day 4 - Hubbard Glacier Daily It was a little cloudy as we sailed North towards Hubbard Glacier. Kind of quiet out here! Not that I don't mind. Its my way of relaxing and getting ready for the day! It was a bit cooler this morning, so I grabbed a cup of coffee. Then it decided to start raining. I moved under deck 13 more. You can see where I was, note the coffee cup and regular cup.
shadowmeboy Posted November 4, 2022 Author #125 Share Posted November 4, 2022 Still kind of quiet I don't get why people don't want to experience this beautiful liquid sunshine in Alaska. Susan finally made her way to deck 12 and we headed to Windows. The look out the window at Windows! Seasonal fruit plate Cottage Cheese and my half grapefruit Susan got the burrito special So did I, but I got some sides to go with it. After breakfast, it was time to prepare for the sail in to Hubbard Glacier. We are just to the Southwest of Yakutat, Alaska and the Entrance into Yakutat Bay which leads to Disenchantment Bay.
