Premier1vaCruiser Posted November 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2022 We will be cruising in February on the summit. Which specialty dining rooms do you recommend? Also what is the best place for the sail away spot for viewing.
Rare prmssk Posted November 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2022 Sunset Bar (aft of the deck with the buffet) is a fun sailaway spot. If you want a quieter place with more shade, the Promenade deck is also a great place. We don't typically do specialty dining so I don't have any recommendations but we will be on the Constellation (the Summit's sister) leaving this Sunday and are actually booked for Tuscan Grill one night and my husband his Mom are probably going to try Le Petit Chef. Sushi on Five is the third specialty dining on the M Class ships.
long time lurker Posted November 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2022 Specialty dining on the Summit is very limited. The choices are Sushi on 5 (Ala Carte), Tuscan Grille, and Qsine (Le Petit Chef). Our best meals have been at Sushi if you do not mind the A la Carte menu. Tuscan is a more traditional menu and dining room, but the service and food can be very hit or miss. We have not tried Qsine as the concept does not appeal to us. jelayne Posted November 2, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2022 The Summit has Tuscan Grill a Italian Steakhouse, LePetit Chef as set menu dinner with a animation and Sushi on 5. I don’t eat fish/seafood so can’t comment on Sushi on Le Petit Chef due to the structured experience ( everyone served the same course at the same time to match the animation) wasn’t enjoyable. The set menu has a alternative dish for each course but then the animation does not match what you are eating. On Summit we only do Tuscan. The filet has always been very good, ribeye not so good
LB_NJ Posted November 2, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2022 We did Tuscan on the first night because of a discount and a lot of OBC. Not sure if it is worth it otherwise. Le Petit Chef did not interest us. Did not get a chance to try Sushi.

We're not fans of Tuscan Grill or Le Petite Chef but we love Sushi on Five. We were told by one of the restaurant managers that they closed Le Petite Chef because they only had 7 people booked for that night.
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted November 2, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2022 I think anyone willing to go to a specialty restaurant should try Le Petite once assuming the menu is appealing to them
stellarose Posted November 2, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2022 I turn 50 on the summit in August. where should I go for special dinner. MamaFej Posted November 2, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2022 For what it's worth, we were very disappointed in Tuscan Grill on the Eclipse in 2018. We happened to have quite a bit on non-refundable OBC on Summit in September, so we booked the first night special on Summit and we were pleasantly surprised with a delicious meal and excellent service. We were glad we gave it another shot.

Just a quick FYI -- For those interested in dining menus just check the Celebrity app. Find an upcoming sailing and folks will find menus to only only the MDR, Luminae, and Blu, but also the specialty restaurants. IslaSarah Posted November 3, 2022 #15 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Even if your sailing isn't available, you can look at dining menus for a different upcoming sailing to get a sense for what is available.
Northern Aurora Posted November 3, 2022 #16 Share Posted November 3, 2022 4 hours ago, stellarose said: can you look at app a year out? Menus for the specialty restaurants, such as Tuscan Grille, are standard across the fleet and when there are the rare changes the change will be again across the fleet. So yes, what you see now for a specialty restaurant will most likely be what you would see in a year from now -- unless there is a change or modification across the fleet. For menus in the MDRs (such a the MDR for a particular ship, Luminae and Blu) find a sailing with a comparable number of days. Celebrity has a 14 day menu rotation for non-specialty restaurants, so a 7 night sailing on one ship for Luminae will be comparable for a 7 night sailing on another ship. @IslaSarah is correct. Cruise a holic Posted November 3, 2022 #17 Share Posted November 3, 2022 We enjoy Tuscan and Le Petite Chef is fun. If you can try both. We do not like sushi so we do not go to Sushi on five. We used to enjoy that restaurant when it was Bistro on five. Agree the best for sail away is the sunset bar.

Since you say you are pescatarians rather than vegetarians you will have some good options in Tuscan, go expecting a typical American Italian steak house experience and you will not be disappointed, it is not 'fine dining' though.

Celebrity does change things from time to time.
scrapcreator Posted November 3, 2022 #20 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Best place for sail away? Sunset Bar. We had held off on Le Petit Chef because of the reviews I had read here. We decided to try it on our Summit Boston - Canada cruise last month and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun, the dinner was delicious, and the staff was wonderful. We chose the menu with the ravioli and the filet mignon because it had the most items that we would not need/want to substitute. I would recommend reading through the menus and choose a night with a menu that you would enjoy.
