Markanddonna Posted November 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2022 We boarded the Epic Nov 3 and the shops, as of this sailing are permanently closed. I peeped behind the canvases and the were truly all empty. No display windows either. I wonder what is going on?
Rare ColeThornton Posted November 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2022 You could always just ask one of the officers. 🙂 I doubt they are permanently closed, more likely renovations.

Rare www3traveler Posted November 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2022 Probably getting ready for the Transatlantic Crossing on Monday and the Winter Caribbean Season. Trading out merchndise from one season to another.
dandelpino Posted November 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2022 They’re just renovating. On our breakaway sailing last month the shops were closed at the start of the trip and had a grand reopening halfway through our cruise.
Rare dshefter Posted November 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2022 The shops had clearance sales. We thought it might be supply-chain issues, but renovations sounds more plausible. We were on the Oct. 2-13 sailing.
PugsRuleATL Posted November 4, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2022 Sounds like a dream to me. This would be about the only way to control someone’s shopping habit while onboard (I’m not naming anyone). Enjoy the cruise! 3
Jltjr1999 Posted November 6, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2022 We're on board now. A guest service crew member told us today that the shops will reopen November 10th. I guess we'll see.

That is a little drastic and melodramatic. The assumption you are making is unrealistic as are most assumptiosn. This is how most rumors are started! 🙂
Rare DCGuy64 Posted November 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2022 Yeah, I was about to say, please be mindful when creating topics to avoid words like "permanently." Unless you know for a fact that such is the case, it causes confusion for people reading these boards. Thanks.

I was on the Oct. 2nd sailing and the NCL stuff was 75% off and some of the other merchandise was 50% off. It was great since I had OBC to spend. J0Y0US Posted December 4, 2022 #13 Share Posted December 4, 2022 Did they reopen at this point?
Middleager Posted December 4, 2022 #14 Share Posted December 4, 2022 They are open. We're on b2b from 2022.11.15 Haifa, then 2022.11.26-12.7 Rome to Lisbon. The shops are open. There's no way these shops are "permanently" closed. It's an important money maker for NCL.
