brad0576 Posted December 13, 2022 #54 Share Posted December 13, 2022 I’m currently on the Joy - passed the Bliss headed from Panama City to Guatemala - the Joy is only 80% full - but 95% are old and full of complaints - it seems like the staff is over their pointless “issues” 2

pc_load_letter Posted December 13, 2022 #59 Share Posted December 13, 2022 Did the five day on Bliss right before you and was also bummed by the lack of Christmas decorations. We had a great cruise and Cagney's was amazing. I would say 99% of our food was excellent, even in the buffet. The one exception was some steak skewers in the MDR that were pretty tasteless. One night I was pretty hungry. Asked the waiter if I could have the potato gnocchi as my starter. He had no problems with that and brought it right out. Had the fried chicken entree and the shrimp and grits entree after that. All were excellent. Can't wait to read more updates! Have a great time! Rare MarkusToe Posted December 13, 2022 Author #62 Share Posted December 13, 2022 Hey looks like, I'm on this picture.... Didn't know the have Webcam. Transit was great, but downside: first lock passage was at 5AM..... Today the same smoking crowd blocked the tables on H2o again, smoking...called security: nothing happens. No idea how to escalate further. I'll go to guest service this evening....

drwbrt Posted December 14, 2022 #65 Share Posted December 14, 2022 I've checked the webcam several times and typically see it empty. Is the bow open to passengers at all times or is it limited for special occasions like passing through the canal?

That area is usually where the crew can hang out.

Rare www3traveler Posted December 14, 2022 #68 Share Posted December 14, 2022 Bow is open usually in one of the glaciers in Alaska (Glacier Bay in particular) and the day of the Panama Canal passage. The rest of the time it is a crew only area. 1
Rare MarkusToe Posted December 15, 2022 Author #69 Share Posted December 15, 2022 (edited) Dinner today at La Cucina, the Italien Restaurant. I've to say from my point of view the best restaurant on Bliss. I would say the most unterestimated restaurant on Bliss. We had a few different entree, exzellent taste, but way too big for entree... At home this is main course. Al of us had the filet as main. To be very honest way better than Cagnes. Service perfect. It's a peculiarity of American English, but dinner courses which Europeans call "entrees" are known as "appetizers" in the US. What Americans call "entrees" are know as "main courses" or simply "mains" in the rest of the world. So, the dishes identified as "entrees" on the ship's menu actually are intended to be the main course for the meal. Light dishes that you may wish to sample prior to the main course would be listed as "appetizers." As I recall, however, the menus in La Cucina list the dishes in sections labeled "antipasta," "primi," "secondi," and "dolce."
gmbhardy Posted December 15, 2022 #73 Share Posted December 15, 2022 Thanks for posting. We will be on the Bliss for a Canal cruise in early January. We have purchased the Premium Plus beverage package but I’m having second thoughts based on the posts of many cruisers. We had the package on a Haven cruise in March and enjoyed it, but this time we are staying in a Club Balcony suite and I don’t think we will be able to get the selection of drinks we had in the Haven. Doesn’t sound like you’re enthralled with it either. If you could post more info on plus selection availability I would appreciate it.
Rare MarkusToe Posted December 16, 2022 Author #74 Share Posted December 16, 2022 Its relatively easy: inside the ship you get everything from plus offerings. Outside: nothing FAS only. All over All we are happy to have it. Especially the wine selection at dinner is much better.
