After a bit of discussion, he asked if we'd like to have him print the new style cards for our collection. Our butler was Regine. We only had drinks a few times in Michael's, the bartender was an older Jamaican gentleman, but I didn't get his name. Tom Tom Was Cranston your Bar Server in Michael’s? Boarded the Solstice yesterday and the cards are horizontal . The change I noticed on the Suite cards was the lettering seems larger and letters are a very shiny silver on the dark grey background. At first I thought the vertical design was only for E-Class but the first post in this thread proves that wrong.

jwlane Posted December 6, 2022 #34 Share Posted December 6, 2022 Upon further review, I note the landscape cards (Solstice) still have a mag strip (swipe at purchase points) and bar codes (scan embark/debark ship) on the back (and must be entered into cabin door to unlock), where as the portrait orientation cards (Apex & Silly) lack the strip & bar codes (RFID embedded). I thought you were onto something so I checked my cards and I have a Landscape card fromt he Reflections which didn't have a magnetic stripe, so that has no bearing which type of card. Rare groryjm Posted December 6, 2022 #36 Share Posted December 6, 2022 These are all RS and PH from post pandemic. We first got the purple strip in April this year but in Aug last year they did put a sort of X sticker on . On Reflection in July we had the old landscape ones. There are, after all, only 10 or 13 upper suits on S Class and 14 on E Class so it seems a bit unnecesary. They used to have a printed sheet with photos in luminae and Michaels. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted December 6, 2022 Author #42 Share Posted December 6, 2022 The card we had the week of 11/20 already utilized a chip (RFID), as did the new style card. It was definitely more easily read @ security points than the older bar codes. Tom

I'll have to go back and look, but I REALLY don't recall the 2/26/22 Reflection using that (the prior sailing). I'm guessing they must have though! Since yours does not list the Package Type, it was a casino promo - w/out the additional perks? It's hard to keep track of what's included and what's not ! I have 94 keycards of 101 cruises taken. Souvenirs. The first few on NCL back in 2001 didn't have keycards and a couple of times the cards were confiscated when we downlined and disembarked early.

Yes, we've been cruising almost exclusively on casino comped cruises for the past 8-9 years, maybe more.
