Goldeye Posted December 30, 2022 Author #26 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Actually, one other question. Is the main dining fare friendly towards someone who is lactose intolerant? Is a lot of cream used in their meals?

If they know about it, they will probably show you the menu the day before, so they can provide alternatives.

If you let them know you can see the following day's menu at dinner, and choose from it and they will adapt accordingly where possible. There was always lactose free milk in the buffet and we ordered some from room service for the cabin. In addition, lactose free cakes & desserts were clearly marked in the buffet.

Mickb Posted December 30, 2022 #30 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Having experienced HAL cuisine and Cunard - imo Cunard is considerably better. 10 years ago HAL cuisine was very good but continual cuts have reduced the standard very significantly. This does not seem to have happened on Cunard which has if anything, improved recently.
Red Ray Posted January 5, 2023 #31 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Disembarked QM2 on Tuesday after the Christmas Caribbean cruise. We ate in the MDR, Golden Lion, Buffet, Carinthia & Coriander whilst on board. No complaints about any of them - the midnight buffet on New Year's Eve was excellent, as were the lunchtime curries I had in the buffet & Golden Lion. Food in the MDR was fine and our waiters were always happy to cater for any special requests/extra portions. The only slight disappointment was Coriander - nothing wrong with it but certainly inferior to Sindhu on P&O.
