Rare uneamie Posted January 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2023 What is it exactly? We have it, but I never thought there was any priority in getting off the ship.
European_CruiseGirl Posted January 14, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) We have done this several times. Not worth it tbh. You are told a place where you meet the concierge who will escort you off the ship up until the gangway. There is a small advantage in it as the concierge brings you down with the service elevators so you can access the gangway more easily. However in our experience the concierge rarely is there at the meeting point at the exact time when you want to leave (he is escorting a previous group of people out) so you are waiting there for him to come back and then possibly for a group to again gather that he will escort out. So you usually end up waiting anyway. Now if the concierge would escort you off the ship and all the way past passport/customs via a priority route - that would truly be a good perk. However this has not been our experience ever. Edited January 14, 2023 by European_CruiseGirl
complawyer Posted January 14, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2023 imho, the ability to have the concierge get us off the ship is worth the price of admission. we have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be escorted off, and taken directly to the baggage claim area. additionally, if you booked a cabin with concierge services, more than likely your luggage is in a specifically designated area, and much easier to locate. for us,it's a great perk. btw, most of the time, this is the only time i use a concierge service
Rare wolft927 Posted January 14, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2023 Staying in the Haven this is a great perk! Meet in the Haven lounge and once the ship is cleared in port or when debarking go down crew elevators right to the gangway and bam off the ship

If you are talking about the platinum benefit, it is getting yellow luggage tags from cruise next and having your bags in the baggage hall first. Actually Gold tier gets priority "disembarkation", but not embarkation. I just didn't know what that could mean. I know embarkation is about getting your luggage to your room but that's not the one I'm asking about. We always take our own luggage off the ship...much easier. But I now see in the responses that it is about the concierge bringing you down with the service elevators so you can access the gangway more easily, which sounds like a good perk for being just Gold Level. https://www.ncl.com/shorex/238261695/latitudes
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2023 After dozens of NCL cruises, we have got an escort off a ship once (when we were not in a suite or the Haven).

Unfortunately, there are several perks listed that usually never materialize.

Maybe you just have to go to customer service desk and ask about them and find out how to ensure you get them....like the 50% off of a laundry bag. As I said earlier, "Priority Disembarkation" is getting your bags delivered to the baggage hall first and being called to disembark first. It does not mean being escorted off the ship. "Yellow" tags All of the Latitude perks are administered by Cruise Next. Go to their desk if you have a question. Yes, you will get 50% of the fill-a-bag service. I thought you meant to take them to your room. So this yellow tag simply means you will get off the ship earlier which some may really want. I see that GOLD level does get this. Thanks for the explanation. Edited January 15, 2023 by uneamie
