I don't know if carryover points will qualify but that would be good to ask the host on the first day. As Ruby tier I start each cruise with 400 obc then on last evening host gives me more based on play. (Not easy to spend another three or four hundred last day😏). I would much rather get 500 off next cruises admin fees & port charges! The CAS Next certificates are only good for one year from issuance. You have to book and cruise in that one year. So, if you have your April 2023-March 2024 earning period already booked, then getting a cert right away does not help,,, they would expire before you could use them. However, you can roll your points forward to your next cruise and next cruise and maybe get some that would be valid during the 2024-2025 earning period. Yes, you are trading the $50 value of the points as OBC for $250 in future cruise (or $100 for $500). It's new. I asked at the casino last week and the one host had never issued a certificate and was reading me the T&Cs and the senior host had only issued one.

dbdb Posted May 25, 2023 #53 Share Posted May 25, 2023 Does anyone know how long it takes for CAS to incorporate recent play into its new offers? Should I wait days/weeks/months before trying to book another cruise? Would gaining around 6k points, from 0 to Pearl, while booking a loss, get a decent offer? I believe I haven't played that heavy in the past and have usually been offered comp Interiors.

Don’t bother with offers.

I'll be playing a little more carefully on our next cruise while we see what is happening for us. 😊 The reduction in hosts on large ships to an executive host and senior host will be coming to the US (currently implemented on European cruises). That’s a 50% reduction to the host staff. And additional “enhancements” to the CAS program are coming in response to the requirement for each department to reduce costs. There was nothing specific on what the “enhancements” will be.

I am new to CAS as of 09/2022, but that is what was explained to me. I received my first ever OV comp for an upcoming May 2024 cruise. I have a B2B coming up in November, so in theory I could have waited to book it, with hopes of a better cabin, but I wanted to get it taken care of. I am looking at a Fall Canadian cruise in September 2024, so looking forward to see what will be offered.
