KC217 Posted January 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2023 We have an upcoming cruise that will make a stop in Salvador De Bahia, Brazil. We like to get off the ship and explore the cities / town on our own. If anyone has been here recently can you tell me if the city center is within walking distance of the cruise terminal and is it safe to walk to and around the city on or own. Thank you. Aussie Jeep Posted January 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Hello, Salvador is an amazing city. Just near the terminal you can walk to the Elevador Lacerda https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevador_Lacerda The history here is amazing At the top you are in an incredible part of Salvador, beautiful historic churches and restaurants and shops. You will have no trouble filling your day in this area. Just be careful and do not wear expensive jewellery and gold chains and keep your phones, handbags and cameras safe. One of my favorite cities
