darinscruising Posted January 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2023 Princess makes very good donuts, especially chocolate , since I've only seen them on disembarking from ship, has anyone requested them during the cruise?
Rare Lady Arwen Posted January 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2023 Just go to the IC and ask. Usually, right there. If not, they’ll tell you when. Also try the buffet. Royal class ships have an entire dessert buffet within the regular buffet.
darinscruising Posted January 19, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2023 I was on the enchanted for 14 days in Nov, only seen them once.
MissP22 Posted January 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2023 The Enchanted served them every day although they weren't a good a in past years. There was something lacking and I didn't want to consume the extra calories.
Mike45LC Posted January 20, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2023 I didn't see any donuts at all on 10 days on the Crown.

Rare Jeter02 Posted January 20, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Personally, I'm all about the IC almond croissants! The donuts are readily avilable every morning at IC during breakfast hrs.
marden1970 Posted January 20, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Just got off the Emerald after 30 day B2B Panama Canal. Had a chocolate donut almost every morning with my tea at the IC, ususally around 7AM.
DCThunder Posted January 20, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 20, 2023 This might be heresy, but in general, I have not been impressed with Princess' sweet pastries, whether in the IC or the Pastry Shop in the World Market. The donuts certainly aren't fresh Krispy Kreme quality, the croissants are too dry and not particularly flaky, and things that look good, don't match in taste. I do like the chocolate chip cookies in the Pastry Shop, though.😉
Tigerfan85 Posted January 20, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 20, 2023 I saw donuts every day on the buffet at breakfast on the Caribbean last week. My friend said they looked better than they tasted, but I never had one.

If their donuts were anything like Krispy Kreme it would have been a different story. 😄

Let me clarify: I eat breakfast in the buffet. I usually eat breakfast in the MDR exactly once each cruise, just to make sure that I am not cheating myself by going to the buffet instead of the MDR. I have never been impressed by the food offerings at the IC during the non-breakfast hours, so I never made a point to check on the IC offerings during breakfast. (I don't drink coffee, so I don't go to the IC for coffee.) Thanks to this thread, I will check the IC at breakfast some morning on my next Princess cruise, to try a donut. Sea Hag Posted January 20, 2023 #18 Share Posted January 20, 2023 We've seen the frosted ring donuts on all our recent cruises. I couldn't care less about those. What I do care about and what's been gone is the little custard or jam filled donuts. I miss those little balls of happiness!

In the Pastry Shop, the "sugar free" pastries/donuts were clearly marked as such, while the ones with sucrose were the default option.
Rare Hlitner Posted January 20, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 20, 2023 We have had donuts on all of our Princess cruises (over 30). On the ships with an IC, there are always donuts in the morning (I think they are in the case until 11 or 11:30 when they are replaced with lunch items). travellingnana Posted January 20, 2023 #22 Share Posted January 20, 2023 I think the almond croissants win, but I did get the cinnamon sugar donuts on the Ruby, both in the IC and HC, and thought they were good. What disappointed me though on the Ruby were the peanut butter cookies. Not the same at all. Just yucky
Rare milogurd Posted January 21, 2023 #23 Share Posted January 21, 2023 They used to have Nutella donuts in the IC on the last morning. Not sure it they have them anymore. They went FAST! Had to get there before 7AM to get one.
