Toxteth OGrady Posted January 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Evening, We've got the premium drinks package, the two extra restaurants and excursions booked. I've read that the Cuba visas cost £15 per person so aside from maybe the casino and gift shop is there any more expected expenditure? What about arranging local currency to spend? Is there a travel exchange on the ship ( with decent rates), or is it better locally or even just do it on the card? What time do the shows start in the evening and what time do the evenings tend to wrap up? Sorry for the bombardment but I do like to be prepared. Many thanks
Manchester is blue Posted January 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2023 We spent two weeks on a land based holiday in Cuba. We had no problems with US $$
Pensioncruiser Posted January 22, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Exchange rate not good onboard and you may wish to reward your cabin steward, small amount for coffee etc on your excursions and its mostly, as said, US. Have a great cruise 😎
gramwold Posted January 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Hi Toxteth, there are 2 shows in the theatre at 8.30pm and then again at 10.30 pm to allow everyone who goes to the main dinning room (MDR) for dinner to see a show if they want to. The live room is a great place to watch live bands and you can party in there past 1AM or past 2AM if that's your thing. Bar 11 at the top of the ship is the night club, we have been known to stumble out of there after 3AM In the past, it's also another great place. Take US $ to spend ashore but get them from home the ship exchange rate is very poor. Have a nice cruise.
paularmstrong Posted January 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2023 we had to change money in cuban bank as were told no other currency accepted , you do realise if you have cuba stamp on passport America wont let you in country on standard visa for a few years. We did enjoy Cuba , did an overnighter there a few year ago on Tui dream docked in Havana
AlanCruise Posted January 23, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2023 To clarify the previous answer about Cuba and entry to the USA, the position is that if you visited Cuba after Jan 12th 2021 then you are not eligible for the normal Visa Waiver program (assuming you are from a country where that is available) and will need to apply for a full USA visa, which can take months to obtain. There seems to be a debate about whether you can get away with it if there is no stamp for Cuba in your passport.
