George C Posted January 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2023 It was very slow two months ago when we were on.
Lillibet16 Posted January 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I just got off the Beyond on Sunday and had the premium WiFi package. Internet was very quick and no issues with making calls. I didn’t stream videos so not sure about that.
dodger1964 Posted February 3, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2023 Just want to make sure of this. If we get the package for "ONE" device...that means we can be online with ALL our devices as long as it is only one of them active at a time? Thanks for the help
Spurschick Posted February 4, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2023 It was excellent last month when we were on. The best internet we have had in 30+ years of cruising.
Rare mac_tlc Posted February 4, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2023 (edited) On Beyond now, here are some speed tests at various times and places. By and large it has been very fast, except for a couple. If it stays with the Starlink system it’s fast. Sometimes it is not connected through Starlink. Seems like the beyond is the only ship that doesn't greatly throttle down the speed. Was on the Solstice after starlink was deployed with premium and it only averaged maybe 2.5 mbps and even at 1am or while it port it never even broke 5mbps. Better than the .7mbps averages on the non-starlink sailing but nothing like the Beyond's speed

If you have a Windows PC, you can log the PC in and then create a mobile hotspot so multiple devices can be used on one account; just be aware it splits the wifi speed between devices. On your PC simply search for "hotspot" to turn it on Unfortunately, while nearly all modern smartphones like the iPhone have a "hotspot" feature, with the exception of the Pixel, they will not be able to share the ships wifi between multiple devices. They can only convert cellular reception into a wifi hotspot or to oversimply it: No cell reception = no wifi hotspot
TeeRick Posted February 4, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Premium WiFi with Starlink on Equinox was excellent. No problem streaming.

It hadn't occurred to me before to try using my Pixel as a hotspot to share my connection. I may need to try this out soon.

I would however check - Usually it is one internet account per guest. So if you booked with your spouse you will each get one account and can use unlimited devices on each account but only one device at a time per account. If it is the free account is Aqua or above the account is the Premium Interne
dodger1964 Posted February 6, 2023 #15 Share Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks for the info...I guess my thought was for the two of us, we could just buy ONE internet package and then we could just both use that one (so basically we couldn't be on the internet at the same time).
