Rare tonyfall1 Posted January 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Hello, I am looking at booking a cruise on the Meraviglia. I have been looking a numerous reviews. I am getting a little nervous because of the issues with the bar and it seems like massive overcrowding in the buffet as well. I have a few questions. - Since the buffet seems quite crowded is the MDR available for breakfast and lunch? - Since it seems very difficult to get drinks, is it worth still getting the easy package? - Is the bar service problem just in the pool areas or pervasive throughout the ship? Cruise5life Posted January 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I’m on the ship now. Buffet isn’t too crowded at all. I’ve always been able to find a window seat. Not too crowded at all. There’s one area that I’ve found that no one seems to be sitting in at all. And tons of open tables. and I don’t drink. But I see open bars all over the ship.
Rare tonyfall1 Posted January 24, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Thanks for the info. Do you know if the MDR is open for breakfast and lunch?
Tierun Posted January 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2023 On my previous MSC sailings, I’ve found that there is usually an open space to sit in the buffet and a bar that isn’t too crowded. The spots may be inconvenient, but they’re there. DW and I don’t mind finding a bar away from the general public. The sports bar is usually a go to for us. Unless there’s a big game going on.
Tierun Posted January 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2023 MDR is open for breakfast. Lunch only on sea days.
Rare L1211 Posted January 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I’m also new with a march booking- watched a ton of recent YouTube videos- I’m wondering if the over-crowding/under staffing is more tied to the ship sailing at capacity - which I’m likely to experience over spring break, and not an “always” thing?
