eltigre Posted January 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I just realized I get mail & email from all the other lines except Carnival. I am signed up for VIP & am Gold Loyalty, almost platinum. I am feeling left out. How do I change this very sad situation?
Rare pirate4me2 Posted January 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I don't ever get any good offers, and I am Platinum, almost Diamond. I think maybe it's because I always have multiple cruises booked....maybe I need to lay off on the bookings.... 2
ShakyBeef Posted January 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Do you have a PVP? If so, call him/her and ask to get email offers. They will start flooding your inbox practically daily.
Ilovesailaway Posted January 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Try going on their logging into their website and looking at what special offers you are eligible for using your VIFP # If they see you looking that might trigger some action
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted January 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2023 My wife and I have been on the exact same cruises. She gets a ton of email offers, I get none. Her VIFP rates are always a lot better than mine. Both of our accounts are used about equally searching for cruises, also. 1
Rare ibarrio Posted January 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2023 check your spam folder...they like to send offers daily
eltigre Posted January 24, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Thanks everyone! I have nothing in junk email, my email address is correct, I look at my specials in VIFP regularly. So I guess I will try calling & getting a PVP. I used to have one years ago but decided I felt more comfortable using a local TA that I could build a relationship with for all of my travelling needs.
pe4all Posted January 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2023 You can have some of mine - I get at least 3 a day, sometimes 6 between myself, dh, dd.😄 1
Rare ColeThornton Posted January 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it...and then some. 😉
Elaine5715 Posted January 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Because somewhere along the line you opted out of receiving marketing materials. 1
StephPS79 Posted January 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2023 The only offers I get emails about are casino offers. All other offers are just under my VIFP #, and nothing really good, the same 3 or 4 regularly available 40% offers.

Bostwick girl Posted January 24, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I’m in the same situation. I only get emails from carnival if it’s something regarding an upcoming cruise, no offers or anything like that. I have NEVER opted out of receiving offers, etc from Carnival. I’m the one who books the cruises, I’m the one always looking on the website, always put in my vifp number to search, etc. guess who gets emails, DH! He wouldn’t even know how to book a cruise, lol. I’ve mentioned this several times to my pvp, and she has no idea why I don’t get anything. We’re about to go on cruise #42 and both are Diamond, and make good use of the casino, lol. I think they just don’t like me!

Tink10 Posted January 24, 2023 #16 Share Posted January 24, 2023 I've only taken 1 cruise on Carnival and get offers daily. We have 7 cruises booked and they still keep coming.
sgttami Posted January 25, 2023 #17 Share Posted January 25, 2023 I get so many Carnival offers, it's sometimes annoying. E-mail and paper mail, numerous times a week. And in between I get phone calls from Carnival regarding the offers I got by mail If I have no interest, I ignore, delete or throw in trash. Currently Platinum but have been getting these since my first time on Carnival...2014 Funny that I get nothing from the other lines I've sailed!

And if you go to their website and check your offers, within a week they send me a email about one offer, never good though. But checking does trigger a email sometimes.

I think they just don’t like me! Somehow you did. Next time you are completing online check-in, look on the very last page, there is a box asking if you want marketing materials/offers, check yes and see if that gets you back on. Companies take the opt out request very seriously and sometimes people assume an "opt out" request prevent just new junk email but keeps the current emails coming but it wiped out them all. I do check that box every time! Matter of fact I just did my check in Friday (20th) for Magic 2/5 cruise and checked the box. Rare EllieinNJ Posted January 25, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 25, 2023 I've only done one Carnival cruise but have five more booked. The only email I get is to put some more money down on those future cruises, even the ones into 2024.

All of a sudden everything stopped about a year ago. I only get alerts on my booked sailings or changes...like when covid stuff was changing or port times adjusted or the change to Venezia from Magic

I think maybe it's because I always have multiple cruises booked....maybe I need to lay off on the bookings.... I’m platinum and currently have 5 cruises booked and I get tons of offers for free or steeply discounted cruises. But 75% of those are casino related offers. I don’t think it has anything to do with what you’ve got booked. I think it’s more about how much you spend in the casino or elsewhere on board. If they make a lot of money off of you it’s worth it to give you a great deal. If not then there aren’t that many good deals. I have 2 friends I often cruise with (both are Platinum), the first friend doesn’t gamble but spends tons in the shops on board (she says it easier than buying souvenirs while in port), on the specialty restaurants, the cheers package, and always books the more expensive excursions through Carnival. She gets some pretty good offers. My other friend is more budget minded, she watches every dime and spends very long little on board. She rarely gets a good offer. So I think they offer good deals to the cruisers that spend over a certain amount. 1
jerseyjjs Posted January 26, 2023 #24 Share Posted January 26, 2023 Unless you're a heavy casino player (4-8 hours/day), Carnival isn't very interested in their long-time cruisers. They're more interested in new cruisers who don't take notice to the cutbacks. My take is that Carnival wants their Platinum-type customers to move over to Princess/Holland American to make room for the newbies.
