Brilliance Balcony or Quantum OV for Alaska?

Good morning,

 

Was wondering if I could get a few peoples thoughts on an Alaskan cruise that I want to book in the next few days using a casino royal certificate.

 

I have the option to book a balcony room on the Brilliance or a Ocean View on the Quantum.

 

Do you think the newer ships features and venues outweigh the Balcony or vice versa?

On an Alaska cruise, the entertainment is Alaska, not what is on the ship.  I would recommend the Brilliance so that you can get outside to see the scenery and the whales.

We were on Radiance last June for an Alaskan cruise. Our aft balcony was awesome, we saw so much!! Whales, eagles, beautiful scenery and gorgeous sunsets!!

Getting on and off smaller ship much easier at ports.  Unless you want to stand outside all the time, you need a ship with good interior viewing areas.  Smaller ships better for this.

Thanks for the feedback.. Went with the brilliance. That’s where I was leaning but just needed a little reassurance 🙂
