Rare trinitygirl Posted January 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Hi all, I am wondering if those of you with experience have any advice for me. About 4 weeks ago I cancelled a cruise. The deposit of $1755 was made up of two components, a deposit of $1395 from another cruise I cancelled at the same time I booked the new cruise, and an extra payment of $360. (The first cruise was still outside the cancellation period if that is relevant, and so was this second cruise, so there were no penalties applicable for either cruise). I pre-paid wifi, gratuities, enclave and shore excursions for the new cruise. With 48 hours of cancelling the cruise, all of the pre-payments and the $360 from the deposit, showed up on my credit card. However, the $1395 transferred deposit, has not been refunded. I have called Princess but the phone assistant is unable to give any information other than saying that the matter has been forwarded to a different department. I have not heard anything from anyone. and then…. Ten days ago I cancelled and rebooked a different cruise, the only way to take advantage of a new promotion. The deposit for that cruise was transferred to the new booking. Again, I had pre-paid gratuities, wifi, excursions, and the enclave. All the pre-paid bookings were cancelled. Within 48 hours, wifi and gratuities were refunded to my card. However, the $1000 I spent on the enclave and shore excursions have not been refunded. I understand that spa and shore bookings are handled in different portfolios than the deposit/gratuities/wifi stuff, but I don’t know if the fact that the refunds haven’t been processed yet is something to worry about. I want to rebook all my excursions and the enclave, but am reluctant until the refunds show up. so, any thoughts? Emma
