spammie Posted February 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2023 We are currently booked in an Aqua Class cabin on Apex. We did put in a move up bid on a suite. We currently have the classic beverage package. I was wondering if we do get our move up bid accepted would we be able to get premium liquor at the retreat sun deck bar. I know we can inside at the retreat lounge but didn't know how it worked at the sun deck bar. Thank you!
Rare DCPIV Posted February 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2023 I'll let someone who knows from experience chime in, but I understand that the Retreat Sun Deck bar runs the same as the Retreat Lounge. You'll get all the trimmings.
RichYak Posted February 1, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2023 IME, the Retreat Sundeck bar is like any other bar on the ship. They check your sea pass card/room number.
Rare DaKahuna Posted February 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2023 As @RichYaksaid. no you will be able to get drinks on the classic package and pay and up charge for drinks not covered by your package at the Retreat Sundeck. Free premium drinks are only available in the Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 2, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2023 As with other things - It depends on the ship. I recall on some cruises you could get premium beverages in the Retreat but if you went to the Retreat Sundeck Bar you had to present your card. I overheard some guests complaining to the Suites Manager who were on Blue Chip free cruise but had upgraded to a suite via the move up. They had no drink package and had been charged for drinks at the sun deck bar. The suite manager was polite but firm and suggested they get their drinks at the Retreat Bar and take them outside. As a one time gesture she refunded their first nights charges.

Never asked for a card in the lounge but have been asked to show our card at the bar or when ordering from a server at the Retreat Sundeck.
