Priceline for Hawaii

Has anyone used Priceline to bid on a hotel in Honolulu? What kind of price did you get and how far out did you bid for? Thanks - any info would be great!:)

Yes, I won a two night bid in December 2003. We got the Hawaian Prince (4star) for $119. I made the bid three months prior to our stay. I would recommend going to "biddingfortravel" and look under Hawaii Hotels. Read carefully "Frequently asked questions". The room we got was on the 23rd floor with an ocean view. The bathroom in this hotel was huge with marble floors and a telephone next to the toliet. Great location right next to the Marina and the Hilton village on the other side. I hope this helps. Tim

Thanks for the info. I've tried to go to biddingfortravel, but for some reason it wouldn't let me go to the Oahu thread. I was curious when I can start bidding - I think it is fun and it sure is cheaper than booking direct.;)

You can bid on priceline up to 11 months before your stay.

When bidding on priceline make sure of the location you want to stay. On Priceline there are zones. Most bidders prefer to be at Waikki south were most of the large resorts are. Of coarse the hotels are more expensive in this area. The next area in demand is Waikki north. There are great hotels in this area and this is the area I won my bid. When bidding I would bid Waikki north first using a low bid, here is why... If you are rejected on Waikki north you can raise your bid and choose a different zone..."Waikki south". In doing so you are acturally bidding twice on Waikki north. You will know if your bid is in reason if you get a counter offer. If you are rejected on the two different bids with no counter offer just wait 72 hours raise you bids and see what happens. Good luck...Tim

I used Priceline and got the Maile Sky Court for $54.00 per night starting March 28-April 1. I put my bid in about two weeks ago. Originally, I bid $50 and got an offer back if I raise my bid $14 I could have it. I turned it down and used a free rebid and bid $52 and was rejected. I waited 72 hrs and bid $54 and was accepted. I highly recommend Betterbidding.com to assist you if you need help.
