Lasallebabe Posted February 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2023 Any info on these side by side rooms? They're close to stairs and elevators --any issues? Is there a way for balcony separations to be lifted so they can join together? Are there obscured views?

Though most can be opened temporarily for maintenance activities, balcony separators on cruise ships serve as fire breaks. That said, you would need the ship’s Master’s permission to have a non-bulkhead one opened for your personal preference.

Ixtoras Posted February 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2023 They should be fine. You'll have a bit more foot traffic due to the proximity to the stairs / elevator, but you'll have cabins above and below. Note that the cabin next door 10784 appears to have an angled balcony, so anyone standing at the rail will be able to see partially into your balcony without really trying. I have seen the cabin stewards open up the divider between the balconies before, (Our neighbors on the Escape had theirs opened up between their two cabins.) but I don't know how common that is. Note if you google NCL Getaway and those room numbers, there appear to be some video walkthroughs of the rooms.

While there are technically no obstructed rooms, 10782 has an angled balcony to the right where they will not have total view down the side of the ship (actually looking into the next balcony a bit). The access to the elevator lobby should not pose a problem. In fact, that would be the general area that we select since as we have gotten older, we always want to be near an elevator lobby.
