Maverick! Posted February 25, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2023 We did this 2-day private tour for our family of 4 when we were in Turkey last summer off the Celebrity Reflection. Our guide Beisa was amazing and we had a driver for a certain portion, which was helpful to avoid the crowds, walk to save time. It was our first time in Istanbul and we were able to cover all the principal stops, including Bosphorus cruise (other than the interior of the Blue Mosque which was under renovation). https://www.viator.com/tours/Istanbul/Small-Group-Istanbul-Highlights-Tour-Max-8-10-people/d585-45366P1
John99 Posted February 25, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2023 @ind502 Besides this thread - how about using the Ports of Call Board. Mediterranean – Eastern and Western You can post your question(s) there also.— Try -- Mediterranean - Eastern and Western Then -- Other Mediterranean Ports which has page after page of comments, questions, ideas etc. This will cover many ports including Istanbul. There’s info on: Independent tours, rental car, shuttle service, hotels, etc. Check it out. John

Torfamm Posted February 25, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2023 I found some interesting walking and food tour options for our trip this spring that seemed like a good complement to a more traditional tour on https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/tour/street-food-of-istanbul-picnic-tour/euisfoodpic https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/tour/old-and-new-istanbul-walking-tour/euisoldnewlk https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/tour/hidden-istanbul-walking-tour/euishidistwlk

Markanddonna Posted February 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2023 The port area can be gridlike traffic as mentioned by many locals. One of the best ways may be to find a guide who meets you at the port, escorts you to the tram, and walks around the sites of Istanbul.
