clojacks Posted February 25, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) I’m reading that some cruise lines provide shuttle service from South Queensferry into Edinburgh, but sometimes don’t advertise until on board so as to not reduce excursion sales. Does anyone in here who has done British Isles on Princess know if they operate a shuttle only to Edinburgh? We are interested in touring on our own once we get to Edinburgh. triple7tahoe Posted February 25, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2023 There is a bus stop up the hill to the left as you get off the pier (water shuttle landing) and that bus takes you to downtown Edinburgh (Less than 5 minute walk to place my wife likes to shop 🙂 ) It is higher than regular bus but fits your needs. fruitmachine Posted February 26, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) This is the service https://www.lothianbuses.com/cruiselink-x99/ Contactless credit cards accepted, and you'll almost certainly find that there are ticket sellers at the pier for the Edinburgh Bus Tours HOHO buses (a sister company of Lothian Buses) that can sell you the HOHO tickets and/or X99 tickets, and who take cards & cash and can give change. The HOHO buses main location is round the corner from where the X99 drops you off in the city centre. alfieisgod Posted February 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2023 If you do go in to Edinburgh make sure you give yourself plenty of time. Even with priority shuttle embarkation you are looking at maybe an hour to get to shore. On my one cruise they used large shuttles - and they took along time (30 minutes?) to fill up before taking another 30 minutes to get to shore.
