Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted March 9, 2023 #26 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I find the gooey sucker sticks particularly unappetizing to see. I wonder if they start out individually wrapped, and could just be handed over separately so they could be given later to….someone to enjoy on their own.
disneyochem Posted March 9, 2023 #27 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Thanks for the review! We’ll be on the Majestic in June with this package and I was wondering about the premium desserts. Glad to hear that the gelato is an option. I’ve been known to order that on cruises…😁
HikaruTsuki Posted March 9, 2023 #28 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I'm excited about the gelato and cakes, but wonder where or if these will be available on older Grand class ships that don't have gelatos?
Rare Cruise Raider Posted March 9, 2023 #29 Share Posted March 9, 2023 While I never thought to even go to the little gelato shop, those mango and raspberry sorbets look really good. Thank you for posting …
Rare talkorpi Posted March 9, 2023 #30 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I wonder where to find these cakes on ships without Gelato. Maybe the IC? Hoping they'll have it on Ruby soon - those sundae things don't really appeal to me much, but that chocolate cake sure does... 🤤

Rare startedwithamouse Posted March 9, 2023 #35 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Love the Gelato, and order multiple times every cruise, whether it's the Gelato shop or from International Cafe. We happily pay the upcharge, because it's delicious. These "premium desserts" look disgusting with cheap ingredients. No thank you.

Pretty much the only nice thing I can say about it. This is one time where I was hoping for false advertising and that the finished product would look nothing like the artist's rendition. 2
Samkitty1 Posted March 9, 2023 #37 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I love the gelato on board the Sky and Regal. Sugar free sorbetto was available every day last month on the Sky. I didn't try it, but noted that it was there for my sugar free companions. On past cruises on the Regal I had no problem ordering a simple hot fudge sundae, and my friend ordered banana splits and was delighted. I would not go for the silly desserts with bottles and lollipops on top, but to each their own.
Rare Honolulu Blue Posted March 9, 2023 #38 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Thank you for sharing. I love my share of sugary snacks, but these calorie bombs are not for me. I gained two pounds just looking at the pictures. 😮

nwnittany Posted March 9, 2023 #40 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Has anyone tried asking for a customized dessert (using one of the Premium Dessert chits)....something like a nice sundae in one of those fancy glasses ? Or is the only option to get something from the canned menu ?

Monster Sundaes with candy and maybe alcohol if available (they will pour some out of a large bottle) (do not recommend) 4. Cake (chocolate, Black Forest or Carrot) $4.00 if not on your beverage pkg. Personally, I’d not order dessert at the MDR and head over and get a piece of cake (definitely splittable) (recommend)" It sounds like #2 would fall within the category of "nice sundae" Edited March 9, 2023 by JimmyVWine

Given these options, I'm guessing my family will probably try one of the fancy ones from the photo (just for the novelty) and then get gelato concoctions. Maybe not what Princess intended, but not so awful, either, imho.
Rare talkorpi Posted March 9, 2023 #43 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Does anyone know if this includes the ice cream cookie sandwiches on the Grand class ships? Since they don't all have Gelato bars I would hope you could redeem a dessert credit for that.
RNRcruisers Posted March 9, 2023 #44 Share Posted March 9, 2023 That doesn't tempt me at all. However, I had the mocha shake at the ice cream counter on Caribbean P last month - delicious! And it was included in Plus. I only got it once but sure was tempted to get it a few more times. 😄
BabsinTX Posted March 11, 2023 #45 Share Posted March 11, 2023 Thank you for this important public service announcement and photos! Desserts are very important tp me, but I'll avoid the kiddie monstrosities and stick to gelato and cake.
Bridalgownz Posted March 11, 2023 #46 Share Posted March 11, 2023 I'm not on package, but the gelato prices are so much less than in Las Vegas. One scoop of gelato is $9, nothing on top, just gelato. Take my husband along and for two it's over a $20 bill. I'm hoping to get gelato daily!
DaisyandSika Posted March 12, 2023 #47 Share Posted March 12, 2023 The Gelato itself was delicious. I loved the amaretto and my husband the salted caramel. I preferred mine in a dish, and he a waffle cone. The waffle cones were made there, but sometimes sold out close to closing time.

Whatever happened to a reasonable portion of a high quality dessert? If you have the older Plus 50 then the desserts are not included. If you have the Plus 60 (the newer and more expensive Princess Plus package) you are entitled to 2 desserts per day. (GAH!!!)
