Chrisinny Posted May 25 #76 Share Posted May 25 Hi, everyone! I'll be on this cruise along with some friends. We are taking this cruise to avoid the long flight to Sydney. From there we're going with Celebrity to Singapore. Really looking forward to it. Is anyone organizing any private tours? Using Viator? Looking forward to meeting everyone. redrum_29 Posted June 19 #79 Share Posted June 19 Hi Guys. Solo hiker wondering if anyone else (or a group) is planning to hike Diamond Head. Wanted to see if I can find someone else to go with.
Seasoned firefighter Posted June 27 Author #80 Share Posted June 27 Filled out our Australia ETA. I believe it lasts for a year. Used the phone app and it was $13.37 each. Not bad at all. Had seen others that were more expensive. Going to call Currency Exchange and order some Aus$. We're only staying 3 days so not getting too many. They have to order them and then will call you when they are in. Hope everyone is having a great summer....

We are staying near the airport. It is less expensive and we can, as seniors, ride the light rail for $2 pp/day. There are quite a few boutique type hotels in downtown Seattle. My cousin lives across the sound on Bainbridge Island. If you belong to a Hotel Group like Hilton, Choice or whatever you'll find a place. We belong to 4 groups. I used Google maps to find Country Inn & Suites. We like to get breakfast through the hotel, so it gets us a good start for the day. I've also added you to our little group and you can see the like below. Probably not much help, sorry. The cruise port is about a $10 ride on Uber from downtown. ccLuminosa24 2.xlsx

F3rpect Posted July 13 #88 Share Posted July 13 During this cruise, when we're near Fiji, it will be time to do online check-in for our next Carnival cruise (the Splendor). Will we be able to access Carnival.com onboard the Luminosa without an internet package to complete online check in? Perhaps at an internet kiosk. If not, can we get Guest Services to help us with that check in process? My extreme fall-back position would be to find WiFi ashore on Fiji and check in for the Splendor there. Both of those are great ideas. One other is, while traveling there will be quite a few others that are doing the same B2B. If they have the internet package you can ask them to help you check in. I've done this before. Most are very agreeable, when you tell them you are trying to stay away from technology but need it just this one time.... WEI 57WEI Posted July 13 #90 Share Posted July 13 I seem to recall asking guest services about this. They cannot assist with this. Paying for 22 days of internet if only getting one boarding pass isn't good. I think if there is a one day internet Cafe it costs around $20. Jim has good suggestion about others may be willing to assist. I am doing many B2B on the Splendor after we arrive and plan on using time in port to book boarding passes along the way. If you want to use my cellphone while in port for this it's okay. Plenty of cruise days to work this all out :)
F3rpect Posted July 14 #91 Share Posted July 14 Google's AI says that yes, it is possible to access Carnival.com onboard Carnival ships for free. I'll test that theory onboard in the first day or two and adjust my plans accordingly.
SoloCruiser1979 Posted July 22 #92 Share Posted July 22 I booked this cruise several months ago, this will be my 2nd Transpacific and really looking forward to it. Last year I went from Seattle to Alaska and ended in Tokyo on a 16 night. When we left Seward and started the journey to Japan there were 5 Typhoons in the Pacific two were super Typhoons. We were supposed to have 6 consecutive days at sea before our 1st stop in Hakodate. We ended up having 9 consecutive days and missed our first two ports in Japan. It was still one of my most favorite cruises I have been on. I'm a solo traveler from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina
Seasoned firefighter Posted July 22 Author #93 Share Posted July 22 Welcome SoloCruiser, Luckily we head on a much more southernly route. Seasoned firefighter Posted July 24 Author #94 Share Posted July 24 We are staying at the Holiday Inn Potts Landing, Sydney. The Blue Mountain tour actual picks us up at this Hotel. There are a couple harbour tours available on the day we get in. Any one been on one of these? Which would you advise. We are also planning on taking the Opera House tour and walking the Bondi to Coogee beach path. Any other suggests for our 3 day stay in Sydney that is a "MUST SEE"? WEI 57WEI Posted July 24 #95 Share Posted July 24 VIATOR tour company offers a Sydney Attraction Pass. Zoo, Aquarium, madam tussads and Sydney tower eye are included for $44 total cost...half the price versus separate entrance purchases. Can visit each at own date and time of choosing. I tried to attach a screen shot but think it didn't work... 20 minutes ago, Seasoned firefighter said: We are staying at the Holiday Inn Potts Landing, Sydney. Yeslady Posted August 19 #99 Share Posted August 19 Good Day! I will be on this cruise. I booked it over a year ago and am just getting around to checking into Cruise Critic to see what's up. I have done a Transpacific before and many transatlantic ones so days at sea have not been an issue for me. I live in Florida and am retired so I travel quite a lot. I will come back to this roll call regularly to see what is happening. I am also on the fb page for this cruise.

Am interested in knowing what kind of restrictions Australia has on their custom inspection. Don't want to get hung up there bringing something that is not supposed to be in our luggage.. ccLuminosa24 2.xlsx
