How to cancel a dining reservation

You need to contact NCL to cancel anything. Some people have reported success doing this via chat on the website, but others have been unable to get help by chat to cancel reservations.

The best bet is to make a phone call to NCL.

dont worry about it, it's not very complicated. just wait until you get in your cabin, pick up the phone, dial reservations, and tell them you're cancelling. as far as i know there is no penalty for a  no show even if you didnt give cancellation notice, and, i understand that if you dont show up within 15 minutes of your reservation time, it gets cancelled automatically.

this is not something you need to worry about

Hi All,

I need to cancel one of my dining reservations, but can't seem to find functionality on the website to do so.

Do I need to call to cancel?

Thanks!

I canceled some my dining reservations when I got onboard.  I also just walked up to the specialty dining room I was interested in that night and asked if they had room.  I was never turned down ( but I eat round 6pm, so being early might have to do with it).

And if you don't cancel, it's not a problem.

If you fail to cancel, it will remove one of your free specialty dining or you will be charged a fee.

You reply to a post that is a year and a half old. And there is no basis for your reply (i.e., it is not accurate).

This is absolutely not true

I just noticed the signature. How can someone who's cruised on NCL a dozen times, at least, post something so categorically false? Boggles the mind.

It's the internet.  People post made-up crap all the time.  Unfortunately, many posters don't understand this.

as others have said, you will not be "punished" if you don't cancel. I tend to book a couple of extra dinners at my preferred time just to have a choice but I always try to do cancel the ones I won't go to out of consideration to others that maybr would like to book that time slot. I do this on the ship.

And about false information on internet... Don't get me started... 😮

The reason I stated what I did was because our last sailing, we did not cancel a dining reservation within 24 hours of the scheduled time (husband became ill) and we lost one of our specialty dining credits. We are platinum and even took it up with guest services, to no avail.

Today, I did manage to cancel a dining reservation via the chat feature. I'm only going on what has occurred to us.

Yea, I dont know why folks are saying just to ignore cancelling.   Maybe they were thinking it was just MDR or something, but either way if you arent going to use it, it should be cancelled.

I'm certainly not saying that. We have never intentionally skipped a specialty dining reservation, but, ship happens and we've missed a reservation several times in the last couple of years.

We've never been charged a fee or lost a dining credit. And no one else has confirmed here that it's happened. So, that's "what folks are saying", not that it's proper to blow off a reservation intentionally.
