Ineke Posted April 15, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2023 Our best cruise was the Eastern Mediterranean on the then brand-new Noordam. Magical. But none of our 20+ cruises have been horrible 😊

JeffElizabeth Posted April 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2023 The last cruise of the Prinsendam. We went up to Norway and the Arctic Circle. Nothing like watching whales at 2AM in the morning from the Crow's Nest. Many of the older captains were also on the cruise with us so we got some great lectures about Holland America's history. Rare DesertRat46 Posted April 15, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2023 A toss-up.... DW likes the Baltic with 3 days in St. Petersburg (2006) and my choice is Sydney to Tahiti (1999).

saturn93 Posted April 15, 2023 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2023 All of them, but the one to choose was Ireland/Scotland/N. Ireland/Norway in August 2014 on the old Rotterdam. Only cruise overseas for me, until this October.

Riversedge Posted April 15, 2023 #12 Share Posted April 15, 2023 Antarctica by far. We were on the Grand Antarctica and South America in 2020. We reminisce about it with each other often.
Mehroswitha Posted April 16, 2023 #13 Share Posted April 16, 2023 We've loved every one of our cruises, starting with a Princess cruise/tour to Alaska in 2003 and including several great ones on HAL. Our all-time favorite, though, was on Viking, starting in Bergen and following the coast of Norway northward above the Arctic Circle, then across to the Shetland and Orkney islands before terminating in London. Next up: return to Alaska on HAL this summer!
Reagan0712 Posted April 16, 2023 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2023 For me it was the Rotterdam inaugural cruise, Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale. And it wasn’t because of the itinerary. It was because about six months before the cruise we started Zooming on a weekly basis. This eventually whittled down to a core group of about 25 people. So, when we finally got to the ship it was like having a reunion of old friends. We’d do things together. Not the entire group but we’d always have little groups going to this or that on board. Then, last October a bunch of us were on the Rotterdam again for the 150th cruise. Many of us still Zoom once a month just to keep in touch. Rare ottahand7 Posted April 16, 2023 #18 Share Posted April 16, 2023 For me it was Iberian Adventure on the Konigsdam. Truly wonderful weather and ports. Sadly it was when I decided I will never fly overseas again but there are always trans-Atlantic and RT cruises.
Rare Lady Arwen Posted April 16, 2023 #19 Share Posted April 16, 2023 Mediterranean on Koningsdam 2018. First time in Tuscany and we went to a vineyard. The views were spectacular and I wept with joy. We’ve done 40+ cruises on many different lines, but this one stays in my heart.
AKJonesy Posted April 16, 2023 #20 Share Posted April 16, 2023 Antarctica even though we had to cross the Drake Passage, it was totally worth it.
