EDDY0827 Posted April 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2023 I'm headed to Alaska for 10 days on the Crown on the 23rd of May. I'm looking for recomendations for some good burgers in ISP, Sitka, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. I know of Burger Queen in Ketchikan but would like to hear about other favorites. 🍔😊
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Burgers in Alaska? Maybe reindeer burgers...but it's all about the seafood.

They do list a few different burgers. Hope to see you onboard!

Salmon is a common fish here as we have several salmon hatcheries nearby. I'm not much of a fish eater (fish and chips maybe 2 times a year) and can't afford King crab at every port. Seeing as you are from Hi, it may be all about the seafood, but speaking from experience, variety is best. LoCo Moco, Spam musubi are not to be missed. I've had some great burgers on Kauai (Kapaa) and Maui (Lahaina).

Rare Shippy Posted April 25, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Warning about the Red Dog...Do not go if easily offended. It is all about the atmosphere :O) Their menu is online. Aside from burgers.. I quote from their Liquor section.. Cheap ***** $6.50 Regular ***** $ 7.50 Expensive ***** $8.50 Really expensive ***** $9.50. You can also order a Duck Fart....no kidding A unique place not to be missed Usually VERY crowded
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 25, 2023 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2023 @EDDY0827. I have to agree with you. I eat most seafood...cooked or sashimi but Salmon is not on my list.
Rare azbirdmom Posted April 25, 2023 #9 Share Posted April 25, 2023 The Hangar in Juneau has decent burgers. Cool place to watch the planes land and take off too. https://www.hangaronthewharf.com/menu

Northern Aurora Posted April 25, 2023 #15 Share Posted April 25, 2023 For Sitka consider the Bayview Pub. In Skagway check the menu of the Skagway Brewing Company.
wolfie11 Posted April 25, 2023 #16 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Why would anybody eat anything at Skagway Brewing but their excellent fresh halibut and chips washed down with spruce tip ale? 😁

Very greasy and the halibut very fishy. Definitely not up to their previous standards. Just so you know as you have stated that you were not in Alaska last summer. wolfie11 Posted April 26, 2023 #18 Share Posted April 26, 2023 Well, dang. I guess I'll give them a try this summer and see how it goes. Hopefully, the spruce tip beer is still good. I was actually in Alaska for several weeks, but not in my usual haunts.

Italy52 Posted April 26, 2023 #20 Share Posted April 26, 2023 The Hanger in Juneau is good but it can get busy with some wait time to get in for service. Very popular place.

They have a surf and turf burger that is a beef patty and a halibut patty. I really hope you can do halibut because the burger is amazing.
