coondog99 Posted May 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2023 My wife and I have been on the same amount of Carnival cruises however when booking our next cruise in 2024, I received a better VIFP offer than her. When we asked the PVP for the reason, it was explained that I had spent more while on previous cruises. Does anyone know if this is accurate as it seems odd? mz-s Posted May 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2023 Probably not the true reason but yes it's pretty common for you both to get different offers. My wife and I get different offers as well.
vwrestler171 Posted May 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2023 There really is no rhyme or reason about offers. I spent about $5k in the casino while my wife spent $50 at BINGO and she got a better offer than me. I see many complaints similar to this on social media. Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted May 20, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2023 My wife and daughter got great offers. I got terrible offers. All of the expenses of all cruises went to the same credit card. In terms of the folio breakdown, my wife probably had the most on hers, and my daughter the least. Yet, they both got the better offers. I'm sure there is a reason. Their marketing analytics spits out who gets what offers, and they keep those top secret. DebJ14 Posted May 20, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2023 Hubby and I are both Diamond. Haven't seen any VIPF offers in years!
kelkel2 Posted May 20, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2023 I’m almost always the higher spender and I don’t get great cruise offers. I don’t know how they calculate it, but I only really get last minute deals that I can’t capitalize on.
pe4all Posted May 20, 2023 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2023 I get totally different offers than dd (who has been on every cruise w me) and dh (who has been on less cruises than us). DD and DH also get different offers than each other, though dh's offers are pretty darn good considering he cruises maybe once every 2-3 years, while dd and I cruise 1-2x a year. No rhyme or reason. xraymomma Posted May 20, 2023 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2023 My husband and I always get completely different offers, and his are usually better even though most of our previous cruises were booked under my VIFP number. We don’t really pay attention to whose card we use when we buy something or gamble in the casino since we’re normally together. Now, I just log into one account at a time to compare and book under the VIFP number with the better offer.
Bob NC Posted May 21, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 21, 2023 My wife and I have been on the same cruises. Most of the charging typically goes in me. Our last booked cruise she had a $500 OBC offer and mine was $50. Cost was the same for both.
