On the average how much do you have to play to get a casino price break. Of the amount you play how much do you end up losing? One final thought and this is a totally personal comment - playing several hours per day is not how I would like to spend my time on a ship or even on land. On sea days we often spend some time after lunch. Evenings we don’t usually go to production shows, after 30+ years of cruising the get s little old. We spend time after dinner listening too music in places like Crooners or Take 5 and do some gambling. We are not early to bed types so we are often up till midnight or a little later.

Same for us, minus the gambling...

So free specialty dining on embarkation night, free laundry, double mini bars since we are also elite, club class dining and Princess plus for well under $10,000 for 2 people for 15-21 day cruises. Can’t come close to that on Oceania So just how is the food? As we're foodies that's a big one for us & sorry the specialties & suite dining are pretty lame for the cost of admission on Princess. Having done the Ultimate Balcony dinner, we know what Princess is capable of providing. The New ships coming now have special restaurants for Reserve & full suites. That will determine how much we switch to or not to Princess.

I'll give Crooners a thumbs up. It's also a good spot to people watch, as the Pax stroll by.

Sure you can enjoy your endless announcements/smoke filled casino/pay $3+ for soft drinks & water/enjoy truly mediocre food/ have worthless art sales/cheap trashy trinkets for sale in the "sidewalk" sales etc. or you can(yes) spend a little more & get far better food/free soft drinks & water/all free restaurants(except where wine is paired with the food) & just an overall more classy feel. We do both lines, but prefer Oceania. We are booked in a Cabana Reserve cabin in 2025 on the new Sun Princess. We do find most new pax we've met as of late were those who have tired of Princess cutbacks & are now trying something new.If the New class of ships is to our liking we may do more Princess cruises in the future. I do like the fact that those in Reserve & the full suites ewill get their own restaurants. I cruise inside cabins because I can cruise more. When hubs gets to come with me, we spring for the obstructed view and sometimes win a bid and get upgraded to a balcony. I don't buy crap. I have enough crap. We pay for princess plus, it's worth it to us, but now we're able to buy it the first day, so we utilize the massive onboard credit we always seem to get, which pays for 1 persons plus. So my all in, is $90 per person per day. I buy FCD and discount gift cards from AARP. I own stock, so get onboard for that too. We only cruise from SF, so there's minimal travel expense or time. I'm after the best vacation at my price range and princess fits all the marks for us. When other lines start home basing in SF, I'll try them. I'm happy with princess. I tried carnival and it's not for us. Don't get me wrong, if it's a choice between cruising 8-10 times a year or 2-3 times I year, I'll carnival. Carnival REALLY nickel and dimes you!
