RRSeeker Posted June 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2023 I do get offers but I have to actually call them to find out what they are. I was told I had a privacy notice on my account so that is why I do not receive anything in the mail. They have since removed the "privacy" from my account many times in the past year but still no luck receiving offers in the mail. I will say my sister who I took on her first NCL cruise with me last year gets offers all the time in the mail. My offers are always better offers than hers for longer cruises but I would rather not wait on hold for 30 minutes just to check and see what they are. As for the offers, after my last cruise I was told I now qualify for a "free" ocean view cabin which I used the offer for my upcoming September cruise. Now, all my offers are for inside cabins but I always upgrade so it doesn't really matter that much to me. I find that I do save quite a bit on the cruise using the CAS offers but it is nowhere near free. There are taxes and port charges, a $140/pp Admin fee (I was told by CAS is was raised to $175 but I am not sure) plus gratuities on the "free at sea" and the daily service charge so free really means at least $700/pp before upgrading and paying for insurance for a 7 day cruise. I saved about $3,000/pp on my September cruise. If I was paying without the CAS offer I would think the cruise is overpriced and not book it but that is the current environment we are in with most everything. Sand and Seas Posted June 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2023 You now can earn CasinoNext that you can use towards admin and port fees. If you earn 5000 points on a cruise and don't use them for 50 Free play, host can issue you a 250 CasNext. For 10k points you can get 500 CasNext. Same rules as Cruise Next. Can use two if cabin qualifies. Then call CAS to book next cruise and they can use them to pay your fees.

I just have to call in and let them know when I want to sail and the cabin I'd like. I have two cruise booked now, a 7-day on the Escape in July and a 12-say on the Sun in November. Rather than asking random strangers, call and ask if gage will offer you anything. I am not aware that FDR changed the casino program. Maybe you gambled less and got offered less. Harry is slashing all departments, including the casino, to help make the cruise line more profitable. Edited June 6, 2023 by BirdTravels
Sue Do-Over Posted June 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Casino offers are based on your total play over 12 months (Restarting in April). If its been longer than 12 months since you sailed, they may offer you a discount instead of a free cabin. We are Pearl/Sapphire in their system, and have gotten discounts on cabins for friends/family who were new to NCL. Those discounts came with the stinky-drinky card, so were worth asking for. phillygwm Posted June 6, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 6, 2023 I usually get a "free" cruise which winds up costing about $500+whatever upgrades I may purchase. They base your comps on your play (imputed loss) or actual loss, whichever is more beneficial. I've gotten offers for tournaments etc. but usually just call. Until recently, I would have sworn that the CAS staff were in the witness protection program; they never gave their contact info. More recently, that has changed so I just ask my contact to call me at her convenience and we talk through options. The hold times can be really long otherwise. Rare smillerholmes Posted June 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 6, 2023 I am still relatively new to CAS, so currently stuck with mostly "inside" offers. When I asked about eligibility on an Alaskan cruise I was thinking about they offered me an OV. Nice! Only cost me 30K points to upgrade on that one. I'm not sure if I am able to get offers for the longer cruises because I cruise solo or not? My first experience with CAS I was told 10 days or less, no Hawaii and something else that escapes my memory right now. Since then they have comped a 20-day on the Sun and a 14-day on the Gem during Christmas/New Years. Hard to say without knowing all the determining factors for offers, but even with the dreaded $20/day admin fee I am very happy with the program. spotfish Posted June 6, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 6, 2023 I was told by the CAS member that booked my December cruise (I tried to call the same CAS member that booked my Alaska cruise at the end of this month but could not get a hold of him ) that they are NO LONGER allowed to answer previous customer calls and must take the next incoming call that is waiting, when I told her his name she said he was one of the people that caused the rule change. Both cruises are in Aft balconies.

phoenix1181 Posted June 7, 2023 #13 Share Posted June 7, 2023 I'm a solo cruiser and called CAS for the first time after my Panama Canal cruise last December. Got a 7 day Boston to Bermuda in a Club Balcony for less than 1K including the DSC, Called a week later & booked a 12 day transistion in a mid ship balcony (BA) on deck 10 for less than $1,250 including DSC. I had previosly booked, and cancelled, this same cruise in a BB for $5,146.46. Cabin was a BF on deck 9. DSC not included. Additionally, although I have not yet tried to do it, I was told I could add a 2nd person to my reservatons at the same price. July cruise will be solo. Not sure about October. If I add another person (working on it), I'll let you know if they do actually pay the same.

Actually, the April thing is your CAS tier level which provides onboard perks. It actually has absolutely nothing to do with what the agents will comp you. Lately, all the rookie agents care about is if they can find a internal (NCL) or external (e.g., Caesar’s) offer linked to your account. They have lost their ability to book based on theoreticals. Rare DrUrsula Posted June 10, 2023 #16 Share Posted June 10, 2023 We are not big casino people but I do enjoy the slots. We got a call from CAS after our last cruise and ended up with a large discount off each of our 3 pending cruises. Our CAS tier would be whatever the bottom one is. I have no complaints about CAS
ronheg Posted June 10, 2023 #17 Share Posted June 10, 2023 How much do you have to lose at the casino per cruise or over a years time to get these discounts? The discounts sound wonderful!
JMSPADES Posted June 14, 2023 #18 Share Posted June 14, 2023 I just email my CAS agent. Tell her which cruise I'm looking at and she will tell me what is comped. Normally get a regular Haven room then bid on the 2 bedroom suites.
