6:5 is not really blackjack.  It lowers the odds of winning to the point that it’s just a sideshow, carnival game. It’s a ripoff.

Also cruise ship odds are terrible on the video poker machines.

Just a basic inquiry- any idea of the table minimums?

A couple of years ago we were on a back-2-back.  One of the segments had a large contingent of casino invited guests.  On that segment, the minimums went up.  Your experience may vary but as different people have had different observations, that might be an explanation.

It really depends on the casino and the game you're looking to play. Typically, table minimums can range anywhere from $5 to $25. If you want to get a feel for it before going, you can try online casino games at home to see what works for you. Many online casinos offer free play options, so you can practice without spending any money.

From my experience, table minimums can vary quite a bit depending on the casino and the time of day. You could also visit during off-peak hours, as minimums are often lower then. I play on online casino, and I think it's more convenient.

I personally recommend the best online casino in Japan , they have a wide variety of games, so you will have plenty to choose from.

I do not know about Celebrity specifically, but on other ships the minimum moved around.  If the casino was fairly empty (later at night), they lowered the minimum.  Sort of like their pricing on everything else.

Do you also know the paybacks ie odds? I recall that X once allowed 1x line bet odds unless the line bet was $25+. ON REGENT recently it was 2x odds.

I've found that smaller ships might have fewer machines but sometimes better chances of hitting a jackpot. Bigger ships, on the other hand, can feel more like a mini-Vegas, with all the flashy lights and variety. Plus, they often host tournaments and special events that can make it a lot of fun to join in even if you're not a high roller. As for tips, I'd say always set a budget before you hit the slots or tables. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement, especially after a few cocktails! And if you're new to cruising, definitely check out the casino on your ship. It's a great way to unwind and maybe even come away with some extra cash for shore excursions or souvenirs. Just remember to gamble responsibly and enjoy the ride! For more cruise tips and stories, you can check out https://pafisamarinda.org. Happy cruising and good luck in the casino!

I’d go look at beyond casino if I had a clue what game. I don’t think line bet is black jack. Craps?

If you're a new cruiser, I'd recommend NOT visiting the casino for the first few days.  Rather explore the ship and meet people

Line bet is most assuredly craps, it backs up the pass line bet with true odds..

We were on Beyond the first week of July.  The craps table odds were horrendous, but we played daily and had fun.  Table minimum was $10, but you were then limited to either even or 2x odds, I can't remember now.  If you played higher pass line-maybe $25?-, then you could get up to 3X4X5X, if I remember correctly.  We normally play pass line and 2 additional Come bets (or more Come bets if table hot).  Under the table rules, that was not in our favor, so we switched to pass line and place bets.  You could only buy 4 & 10 at $40.  And while the sign indicated you could play a $5 field, we were told that was not the case and the sign was outdated.

Absolutely craps! Again, I recall about 18 months ago on X if the line or pass bets are under $25, then only single odds? Has anyone played more recently & what were the odds bets in craps. At those odds , I might as well just give the casino my money & ask for a drink!

Give me the $$$, I can always use a little more buy in.. I’ll buy you a drink…

🙂

Even single odds is one of the best bets in the house..I just play for fun on a cruise anyways..

Apex, spring 2024. Craps $10 min with single odds, 3/4/5 at $25. Of course they will accept a second $10 odds bet if it’s a tip 😀

On beyond i asked the line question and they said it was referring to dice.  They said 1x up to $25.  So many drinks ago but I think they said 2x up to $50 and then he said 3,4,5…x over $75.  I don’t understand what it means so don’t ask me details.

That means if you bet up to $25 on the "pass line" (that the shooter will make the point) they pay even money on the odds you bet behind the line.  (basically doubling your bet the difference is pass line stays until the shooter craps out odds can be picked up and cancelled any time)

Bets from $25 to $50 pay double (so if you bet $50 on the pass line and $50 odds and the shooter makes the point your bet pays $50 on the pass line and an additional $100 on the odds)

Over $75 pass line bet the odds go up 3/4/5 times the bet depending on what the point set is most likely.

I live in Vegas and occasionally enjoy playing craps.  The odds here are way better.

Odds payout placed behind the point vary..6-8 pay 6 to 5, 5-9 pay 3 to 2, 4-10 pay 2 to 1. Odds are the same on every cruise ship and in any casino I have been on.  All casinos have different rules re the amount allowed to be placed as back up bet.

That is total "greek to me" which is why I do not play craps.  i never could get my head around odds bets and how to figure them out.

Sometimes I have seen "classes" offered on board...it is really pretty easy to pick up.

I have seen those as well.  Maybe next time I see them being offered I'll give it a try.  Mean time you can find me at the roulette wheel, when I can convince my DW to let me play.

Craps is a great game if you understand the odds and decide how you want to play . The game can be fast winning or loosing your bankroll but a great shooter gives a wonderful adrenalin rush.

All of the local casinos in our area give multiple odds so when on X at single odds I am playing smaller solely for recreation & fun .
