jcarter4551 Posted June 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2023 Hello, we are sailing the Med French Nights cruise in a few weeks from Barcelona. Does anyone know if euros or US dollars are used when you buy into table games in the casino on the Med cruises? Thanks for any info.
jon81uk Posted June 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2023 The onboard currency for Virgin Voyages is always US dollars no matter where the ship is 🙂 1
Rare Tyler414 Posted June 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2023 USD, however I did see people using Euro's and the casino does the exchange for them, what the exchange is I don't know.

_tacocat_ Posted July 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2023 9 hours ago, RBCal said: Do the slot machines accept bills or do you charge using your bracelet? both, with 2 stipulations on the band: 1. if you charge it to your band directly and are not a rockstar, you'll get a lovely 7% fee tacked onto your charge - it's essentially casino credit then. 2. if you have sailor loot, you may get that loaded onto your band and use with no fee. to do this, you have to go to the cashier, tell them you want slot money from your sailor loot and how much, then it gets loaded on your band. you tap your band at a machine, log in, and download as much $ as you'd like to play there. you can only cash out winnings and need to play through the full amount (i.e., can't download $100, play $0.50 and cash out $99.50). one other thing to note is that they can only pull from available sailor loot balance, and i think it's in multiples of $5 or $10. if you have any pending items that will be refunded due to deep blue extras or operational issues (coffee credits, laundry, wifi cancelled excursions, etc.), you won't be able to use that $$ until they actually refund you those amounts.
GVM Posted August 24 #7 Share Posted August 24 In addition to this question: I've been on Celebrity Cruises before and the cashier does accept USD banknotes and coins to exchange into casino credit. Since Virgin (the brand) is British, does anyone knows, if the cashier in the casino takes GBP banknotes and coins? I have loads of GBP coins left, and trying to get rid of it (I am Dutch, so I am all Euro).

Virgin Voyages the cruise brand is American. I don’t think they accept anything other than USD cash, but I’ve not tried myself.
neverendingcruising Posted August 25 #9 Share Posted August 25 In all of our sailings the ship has always been US currency. The casino did exchange Euro bank notes for chips when we sailed out of Barcelona but they said they only cash out in US.
