Traveladdict93 Posted July 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Does anyone know how self disembarkation works on Celebrity Beyond? Are you off the boat early? We have a flight out of Fort Lauderdale so I’m trying to plan ahead. Thanks!
Tierun Posted July 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2023 You’ll be off the ship by 8 am. If the ship arrives in port on time with no clearance issues. After which 15 minutes to the airport.
WestLakeGirl Posted July 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2023 What time is the flight? some things to consider when choosing the self Disembark option — They request that you be the first passengers off, and many start lining up as early as 6:30 am — You need to be able to move all your luggage by yourself with no assistance from the ships staff — It is not appropriate for people with mobility issues
debfed65 Posted July 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Hello! We have done walk off many times on disembarkation, and have done it on the Beyond on two separate occasions. We love doing it this way because you can keep all your luggage in your room and are ready to go to the airport with everything packed the next morning. We also walk on with our luggage and take it directly to our stateroom so we are not waiting for it to be delivered. You do not get any assistance from ship crew to do this. Everyone has to be off the ship early, usually by 9:30 in our experience. We have never lined up, and just leave when we are ready. Although you do need to be out of your cabin by 8am. I have also seen people take their luggage to the OV Cafe for some breakfast, although we have never done this.

There will probably be a line of 300ish trying to get off so earlier you arrive in that line the earlier you'll get off the ship. Once off the ship, assuming one doesn't have mobility issues, it will probably be 10-15min until you get outside, perhaps a 3min walk to the taxi line and about a 15min ride to the airport. While I HATE taxis, they're a necessary evil because Ubers/Lyfts may not be able to get through the port checkpoint or just get spooked by it and cancel the ride ultimately adding time. There's variables such as are you checking bags (there's also curbside), do you have priority at ticketing, do you have clear or pre-check, etc You should search your airline to determine what happens if you can't make the flight, some will let you on the next flight for free while others simply credit you back an airline credit and you're own your own a rebook a flight home. If you're booked on another flight that's already full, you may have to play the standby game which requires you to run to each flights gate agent to be added to the first come first serve standby list. We travel a lot, I don't get stressed but she did yet over time no longer does. If one gets stressed and/or anxiety, should probably book the later flight even if its more $$$
