sixpackeddie Posted August 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2023 Just got off the Summit at the end of July. My play was the same for the past 5 cruises we have done over the past year. I called today to see the offers before we embark on the Reflection on Monday and the best they could do was 20% off. We have had a fully Comped Sky Suite once in the past but usually an Aqua Class with all the perks. I am Sapphire and have played a lot but WOW Blue Chip club is really tightening up. I guess ships are sailing full so they don’t care. I may not even visit the Casino on our next cruise…. How has your recent experience been with the Blue Chip offers?
Duanerice1 Posted August 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2023 You are correct. They don’t care as long as revenue is high. Loyalty only goes one way.
Rare Fly and Sail Posted August 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2023 Rather than a veranda with the option to upgrade to Aqua Class for $10/day, all I get now are complimentary Inside cabins for up to 9 days. Edge for Alaska in 2024 is not even available. Told them to shove it.
Rare lv2cruisgrl Posted August 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2023 I was talking to my TA today and he said cruises are sailing full. He said deals are rare. People are booking a year or more out and ships are filling fast.

Seriously hate full ships, especially during holiday periods with so many families on board. I think I'm back to land-based trips for a while.

dazey Posted August 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2023 The past few years I was offered veranda cabins. Now all I get is inside cabin for a fee. Have played my usual amount(if not more) and really get nothing much in the way of offers. Now my husband who plays very little now gets offers for inside cabin too. Mostly a short cruise and on ships we prefer not to sail on(especially vaping ones). I feel like playing a good amount is not worth it anymore and am for the first time looking at trying another line.

Rare NMTraveller Posted August 12, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I am not sure why people are still going to the casino unless they vape or smoke ...
Purplsmurf Posted August 12, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2023 We aren’t anywhere near Sapphire and I have received 3 offers and my husband 2 in the last couple of weeks, I booked 2 cruises last week. We hadn’t received any offers in 19 months and now we are 🤷🏻♀️
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted August 12, 2023 #11 Share Posted August 12, 2023 It isn't just X, it's the other cruise lines as well. What the BCC seems to be doing is increasing the theo to accrue tier points as I usually play the same on a nightly basis per sailing

The casino is vape & smoke free on Celebrity. That Equinox trial is pretty much over. Casino rates and comps were pretty much worth it for me during the last 4-5 years. I didn't pay for a single cruise out of pocket, and I'm up on W/L.

Blue Chip Club is the name of the casino's loyalty program, if you play one penny on a slot you're "considered Blue Chip" If you're asking how much you need to gamble for a free room, still many variables such as slots or tables and if tables which game. If tables, generally playing $25 bet for an average of an hour a night should yield a free interior room but note the requirements can and do change all the time
Bo1953 Posted August 12, 2023 #15 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I Am sorry that the expected cabin categories are not appearing as desired, yet, since it is 'basically' a no charge sailing, I would think it would be fine. Can one bid up for cabins? I do get it, that if one plays a great deal while sailing they would come to expect better cabins and locations... Seeing that the BCC is independent of X, what could BCC do to get more and better cabins for the real high rollers? I will, possibly, become a part of BCC during our next sailing.... bon voyage

Now the lowest comped offers are interiors I also want to be clear that only the sail-only base fare is comped, still need to pay the fees and taxes, internet, tipping and drinks although you do get free drinks while playing and can carry on wine You can moveup but after booking you must email the moveup team to request it be made eligible as it doesn't happen automatically yet the minimums could be very high if that room type has high occupancy

jwlane Posted August 12, 2023 #20 Share Posted August 12, 2023 Does anyone else it's crazy to think X would to try to fill cabins with non/low fare pax considering the current supply of patrons willing to spend freely?

Depends on how much the casino rooms would bring in revenue. If you have a player who has a high turnover of funds then he might end up paying more than the average revenue passenger.

Just got off the Solstice last week, had an email offer on my phone for a comped veranda cabin, they also hand delivered to my stateroom during the cruise...the same offer, and when i went to book a cruise, magically i didn't qualify. And yes i spent quite a bit in the casino that trip. Only offered me a 20% discount. I chose not to bother at that point. As soon as i got home....another email offer???? I have no words Cheers
