621emerson Posted September 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2023 It seems Aqua Class Guarantee is not available for single occupancy, only double, even though it’s the same price. Not sure why that would be.

Because they would prefer to fill the cabin with two people spending money onboard instead of just one person spending money onboard.
gold1953 Posted September 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2023 They will not let my friend book inside Guarantee. Not right as solo cruisers pay double fare. Also this person will not spend money onboard
twins_to_alaska Posted September 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2023 I've never seen any category guarantees available for a single. I cruise solo most of the time.

gordiej Posted November 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2023 Book for 2, with your friend Helen, who then will invariably fall ill a few days before the cruise. You'll get the taxes & port fees refunded.

Cruise Gopher Posted November 14, 2023 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2023 You can either call and they can book it as a solo. Or book it for two and put a fake name and then they will just refund the taxes and port fees when the 2nd guest is a no show. It’s just a system limitation on the website where it won’t let you book a guarantee cabin as a solo.

Straughn Posted November 14, 2023 #11 Share Posted November 14, 2023 If you use a fake person, with the idea of having him/her being a no show on embarkation, keep in mind you will have to check them in. This means an address, a passport # and all the other info required for check in.

No, you don't. "They" can cancel (or no-show) before (without) checking in. Edited November 15, 2023 by mahasamatman
