Healing thoughts to all those with medical issues. We are back from out 14 day Alaska cruise - we both have colds - no Covid, and hopefully will feel better soon. @Nickelpenny glad the weather has improved. When we left the ship on Sunday they said they were turning off the hot water due to an issue with it and would be fixing it during that day. Sorry to hear it wasn't working for you. Safe travels to all that are cruising. And wow about canceling flights. We were lucky that though our flights were delayed we managed to make all our connections, though on our flight from FLL to Lax with our connection to Vancouver we literally walked from one flight right onto the next one since we were delayed and then sat on the tarmac since there was no gate available to us. Flying is no fun at all anymore but it has to be done if we want to travel. Well then that may explain it. Were you toward the front of the ship? My steward told me his colleague on 5 forward said they had no hot water and someone on my deck (6) said the same. Hmmmmm.

We were way towards the back on deck 7 - the entire ship received a notification on Saturday night that there would be no hot water after 8:30 AM on Sunday due to an issue with the hot water. It seems that they weren't able to fix the issue during Sunday's change over in Vancouver. We had hot water the entire trip. 12
Seasick Sailor Posted October 4, 2023 #105 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Dang it! "Dam" it! Dog gone it!! Another change in our American Airlines reservation! They pulled us apart again. Row 4 and 8. Had to call again to say we can't be separated. Changed our seats to row 4, but someone between us. The flight was NOT cheap from Austin to FLL RT. 12

Joy, that is getting beyond ridiculous. I hope they can make another change and get you seated together, without a stranger between you two. 7 minutes ago, kochleffel said: In some products it's just the spices, not any pumpkin. OTOH.... If I say anything else, I could get in trouble. Lenda 10

Rare Crazy For Cats Posted October 4, 2023 #109 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Good Evening, thanks for today’s daily fleet report. It’s been a beautiful day today. I saw a curb alert where someone put out stuff for grabs. They showed a picture of a small table that was close to what I wanted for a plant. I got it, we will clean it up and probably paint it. Work has been crazy busy and I’m wishing I could join the group that is retiring. @JazzyV Happy Birthday, @Cruzin Terri Happy Anniversary. @1ANGELCAT sad to say I cancelled my trip down to PA. Yesterday I started to come down with something and this morning I felt worse. I don’t want to give anything to my 85 year old mother. We are planning on going down for Thanksgiving so I may add Green Dragon to the agenda. I worked with my PCC today and secured a B2B on the Zuiderdam for next August. I hope everyone has a good rest of the day. 10 2

aliaschief Posted October 4, 2023 #117 Share Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) Looks like Tropical Storm Phillipe will be visiting New England and area this weekend. sailingdutchy Posted October 4, 2023 #119 Share Posted October 4, 2023 I am very late posting this because I was fighting and struggling with my iMac after I had this all prepared earlier this morning to show you our very nice day in Villefranche . We visited Villefranche-sur-Mer a couple of times in the spring and again in the fall of 2022 , in May while on the Nieuw Statendam I had booked a small group tour with 7 of us to go from there to a few Perched Medieval Villages of the Alps because in earlier years we already had been a few times to Cannes , Nice and also a number of times to Monaco . After tendering into Port we met up with what worked out to be our wonderful guide Fouad who showed us the beauty of this area The first mountaintop village we visited was Tourrettes-sur-Loup , in the Province- Alps-Cote d’Azur For our dearly departed friend Jose ............ we had just heard about what had happened back in Canada , RIP . Admiring a new Citroen 2CV …..meaning “two taxable horsepower “ Getting some sweets for on the road , some delicious Nougat Next we were taken to Gourdon another beautiful old mountaintop village Gourdon , one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France where the Roman ruins are to be found and its dramatic perched vantage point earned it the name “ the Eagles Nest “ For a nice little lunch I had a Croque-monsieur and madame Martha had a Croque- madame It was now time to slowly go back towards the coast while having another stop in Greolieres overlooking the Loup valley dominated by the the remains of the village “ Hautes Greolieres and the St Etienne’s chapel An amazing day was had by all , we hope we can hook up with this great guide soon for another tour with him ....................a;ez, alez , alez Fouad ! We have to get back to the port to go on the tender , the Captain is waiting and blowing his horn ........ Have a great evening everybody , sorry for the long post and being so late , see you soon on board another BHB ………… Tony 😍😍 17

AncientWanderer Posted October 4, 2023 #121 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Well, dang...late in the day and I'll have to go back to read everything. But...late Happy Birthday @JazzyVVanessa and THANK YOU for all you do here. Happy Anniversary to @Cruzin Terri and your DH. And, big welcome to @Smmessineo. This is a very nice daily thread. I've been following @rafinmd on the Cunard thread, but had to switch to Crystal because the Cunarders are too darn chatty. I mostly want to hear what Roy has to say! Tomorrow I'm going to Los Angeles to babysit for DD and DSIL and then we are going to Disneyland to shake off a month or two of stressful events -- sick babies, me with weird covid legs, DGS having difficulties. Some problems will never go away, but mixing in joy always helps! Have a great evening, everyone, and thanks to all who keep our Daily going strong.

I use a licocaine patch or Salonpas for my back if I'm going to be doing active things. 1 hour ago, rafinmd said: I think Captain said he would turn near the cargo pier. Back in my room.
