ssawjo Posted October 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2023 We have a day in Barbados on Windstar turn around day. Is Bathsheba worth the effort to get there? If so, what is the best way to get there, taxi or car rental? Once there, what is there to do, walk the beach, eat lunch, etc.? Best place to have lunch is...? Any suggestions are appreciated. Bill It’s a spectacular view, then having walked the beach taking in the sights and sounds, if wishing to take lunch there are two good Restaurants overlooking the sea. One’s personal recommendations for Lunch. Tides for Excellent food with great cocktails. Also an extensive wine list. Ethnic Barbados, then it has to be JuJu’s - on the beach Or for fine gourmet dining then next door to JuJu’s is Lone Star. TTEllis Posted October 25, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2023 Yes a taxi is the only way to go, but it costs an arm and a leg to get there and back. I would love and have tried to go back to Bathsheba but for a solo cruiser it's almost impossible.

To assist there is a Public Bus Service from the Bus Terminal about 5 minutes walk directly ahead from the port (as many know). Fare must be paid in cash at the Bridgetown bus terminal ticket office. Think ticket was about US$5 for a return. Takes about 50 minutes. Consider it a site seeing tour. The BUS. I checked that last time on the island. I don't trust anything else but the Bus. That's why I didn't go, because a taxi up and back for a solo was I think $120+tip. Lunch drinks another $100. It's a $250 day easily by the time you get back to the ship. Unless I'm buying treats for family members I try and keep my daily island budget to $200. The bus it seems is the only way reliablely and financially to get to and from Bathsheba and back. Bathsheba is too far from the port not to have a set time and set ride. I would love to get back to Bathsheba it's absolutely worth the ride up there, but you gotta have everything in order before you commit to that. I couldn't find anyone else on our roll call who wanted to go I wasn't going to go by myself.
