fstuff1 Posted October 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2023 When I was in aft balcony on m-class and e-class, the balcony were deep! I was surprised it was in s-Class it's as shallow as a regular balcony :o :( Solstice

bikerunner Posted October 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Class of ships are all different from each other. Still I would take that over reg verandah any day
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted October 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2023 How was the overhang from the deck above? I feel like the aft balconies don’t offer much shade…a must for us.
jelayne Posted October 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Not much overhang at all., you have to sit right by the sliding door to have any cover.
photabitha Posted October 19, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Wow, what a view! The balconies come in different sizes in the aft cabins. You need to research your choice of room on S class as some are significantly wide, although shallower than M class. I would also be delighted with this! I looked at the cabins immediately below and above me. None of those aft balconies look like they can fit a long lounger like I'm used to on m&e class sunset balconies Edited October 19, 2023 by fstuff1

I am not interested in funding my dermatologist any further than I already have. 😄 1

I meant to go back and edit my post to say the aft views are my absolute favorite from on board any ship. I would not turn my nose up at an S-class SV entirely. I would just wear a hat and coordinate my time on my verandah early in the morning and just before dusk into the evening.

kayehall Posted October 20, 2023 #17 Share Posted October 20, 2023 I am excited to have my first SV on Solstice for Alaska!!!! I was on Deck 8 but started looking at some pictures and changed to Deck 7. 7364 looked like it had a wider balcony than the others. Since it's Alaska, I will welcome any sunshine and wear a hat. I already had 1 bout with melanoma, don't need another!!!!
