Donsyb Posted October 25, 2023 #53 Share Posted October 25, 2023 OP you also have the option of just paying the deposit onboard and booking the actual cruise later. we did that last year as we sailed just before Black Friday, so benefited from the reduced deposit, OBC and then got a cheaper price in the Black Friday sale than quoted onboard. I also used my vegas points for freeplay in the casino.

You also forfeit the $200 deposit if you don't convert the certificate to an actual sail.

Given this it would be better for someone that needs a 4 person room to get a Next cruise voucher and booking one through the TA as they cannot join a group rate vs booking directly with a TA with no nextcruise voucher? Correct. They would just need to decide whether they wanted to book refundable or non refundable. Also, I am not a fan of hearing people say that they are cruising in a month and will book on board. For the relatively small amount of OBC that you get (in most cases) the price could have easily gone up by more than that. I always recommend booking as soon as you have decided that you are going and then watch for price drops after booking. (Unless you are going to play the I'll book after final payment game)
