coconutmonkey Posted October 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Hello. I have searched the cruise air forum but have not found an answer to my question. If I book Celebrity air, I understand the fare is fully refundable prior to final payment for a $200 pp fee. If I cancel my air after the final payment, I understand there is a $200 pp fee plus processing fees. How much do processing fees cost? Any experience? Also, do I get a full refund, net of the two fees, on my credit card I paid with? I do not want a credit from Celebrity. Any insights would be most helpful. Thanks. 39august Posted October 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Celebrity "Flights by Celebrity" fares do not have to be paid at all until cruise final payment date. I never pay before this is due. Until then any changes or a cancellation cost nothing. There is no fee to cancel prior to final payment. There are no other fees except the $200 pp if you cancel after final payment. Refunds go back to the credit card used to pay.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 29, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) It is my understanding that there is NO FEE prior to Final Payment. The $200 is only applicable after final payment Additional fees are whatever your airlines penalties or change fees are. The $200 is for Flights By Celebrity Change Fee only and does not include any additional fees your Airline may have. coconutmonkey Posted October 29, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Thanks for the information. I now understand it is up to the Airline if there are additional processing fees after final payment. Looks like it makes sense to book with Celebrity Air. Thanks for letting me know that refunds go back to the credit card used to pay. It makes me feel better about booking with Celebrity air.

Not all flights by Celebrity are refundable fares. If you have a non-refundable fare and you cancel after final payment you would have the $200 pp FBC fee and you would probably just have airline credit generally good for 1 year after ticketing. Generally FBC doesn't ticket until payment so you should have most of a year to use. Make sure to check this on the flight summary. If the flight isn't tagged with "Risk Free" that's also an indicator.

Lastdance Posted October 29, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Continually check on fares with FBC and on your own with Google Flights, or something similar. It is amazing what you might see on your own that is better than FBC, so keep looking...😁
